Re: Cycle Tour Festival (virtual)

Could watch all of the lectures to be honest, good range of topics/places on the list. Two highlights that I’ll endeavour to tune into is the Timmy Mallet talk (for those that don’t know, he’s just toured most of the UK coastline) and our ‘own’ Jack T as he always comes across well on GCN :-bd If y...

This is no boner trip, its full on touring. Think of a bike with stuff strapped to every possible part you get the picture.
Bit of a practice for maybe living on a bike for a year.

Follow me on Insta search for Numplumz and you'll get the idea, doing daily picture dumps there

Re: Veloviewer map - explorer tiles

Anyone here noticed anything odd with there VV explorer score of late? My squares dropped from 50x50 to 33x33 when I looked yesterday on two different devices. Not sure if I have altered a setting or if Ben has updated something like he did a few years ago when a similar drop in my squares happened...

Re: Tailfin trunk rack

I've had a Tailfin rack from the very beginning and have added the trunkpack. It's been abused, battered, used off road and overloaded on mixed terrain tours to Italy and Spain on several bikes (one of its strengths) I like how I can ride to a race or site and then fully remove it quickly if I want ...

@10:26 these guys mounted an oldie clamp on the handlebars, much like the above suggestions.
Going to get me one of those handy bamboo sticks

Find a mtb shifter that is removable from the original clamp, and adapt onto a correct size clamp...maybe 😁

Lumicycle changed the game for me. I can still remember being blown away by the Ridgeway at night after saving up for my first set. Re: A 'gravel bike' for mountain bikers.

I don't really get what drop bar MTBs give you over an MTB with loops or similar bars with multiple positions. If you set them nice and high for comfort there's little aero benefit to them anyway I can't hang onto loop or flat bars for long periods nowadays, my hands are mullered from years of mtb ...

1. Ride down the bumpiest track you know fully loaded before you set off or even better a long set of stairs, you will change something after that. 2. Take a hard copy route profile map with you, knowing whats coming and what to get over or stop before can be a game changer 3. Smile, its better than...
