Re: The post man's been ...

Looks like a Kona stem, I have one of those somewhere, amongst other assorted tat, you should have asked.

Is anything else required? Are you really going to ride 100 miles on a shopper bike?

Re: I'm Looking for Some New Waterproof Cycling Trousers....

Hmm, I might have spoke too soon about Altura Attack 360 trousers...

Went out tonight in the filth, it was raining a bit, I even had a mudguard over my rear wheel, I had a wet arse when I got back....

Have e-mailed Evans, maybe I am expecting too much, but they are not waterproof....

Re: If there were a UK 'gravel race' ...

I'm just trying to get out as often as I can, not worrying about huge long rides at the moment, just using my bike instead of the car when running errands. Hopefully next week I will start to add in a commute to the office each week, which is a 40 mile round trip, I shall add in a second commute a w...

Re: Wanted: Inbred or similar

I've got a blue 18" 456 that is now surplus to requirements, it's well used, paint is scratched and dull in places, bit of damage from chainsuck (but I've kept the rust at bay), rode it without a guard on the chainstay after cleaning it once and the paint took a bit of a beating there. £50? Pos...

Re: I'm Looking for Some New Waterproof Cycling Trousers....

Complete coincidence, but I've just written up a review of my new Altura Attack 360 trousers and posted it on my blog, they have been great so far (albeit not in rain, but keeping me dry and warm from riding though lots of mud and puddles).

Re: Fargo v El Mariachi v..

I can get a 13ltr dry bag containing a pipedream 400 and some spare clothes on my 42 cm woodchippers, no problem, doesn't get in the way at all. Might put wider ones on at some point and put these on my Pompino though, mainly because I think it will be nice to have wider bars on the Fargo. Find them...

Re: Alpkit Airo failure - Advice Needed

Have a word with Alpkit, I had a Wee Airic delaminate a couple of years ago, they asked for a pic and the asked me to send them the nozzle cut from the mat (presumably to prevent someone taking the piss). It was over a year old for sure. A couple of days later I got a new mat, which is still going s...

Re: Slime inner tubes?

Yeah I like tubeless, really reduces the number of punctures you get (I reckon on 1-2 a year at most now).

On my Fargo, that I haven't gotten around to converting to tubeless, I've used a syringe to get 30ml of stans sealant inside each tube, about as effective as tubeless but a bit heavier.

I would just like to thank you for leaving the map behind, it gave me something to look at while waiting for slacker, sam and will to finish their epic drag a bike, also I think it was you we were chatting to in the white lion the night before. (waves) Stu, you and Dee really have excelled yourself ...

Re: Zippo Hand Warmer

I havea Whitby handwarmer that it's I think the same as the Zippo, it's great and doesn't weigh much at all. be aware that they can be a bit of a faff to light without the bit of fuel to squirt on the bit you light. theyalso take a few goes to reach max running time, last time I used mine it ran for...

I'm guessing that the BW running from SN 904995 to 898954, with precious little evidence showing in Google Earth, will not be a lovely ribbon of dry singletrack....

What's the track the other side of Foel Fadian, heading West, like? Can't remember if I've ever done it (done the one from the Monument a couple of times)

Ahhh, just read Stu's note above, very slippy... found this...

Re: If there were a UK 'gravel race' ...

In some ways it would have been nice if the start/finish of the 100 route had been before, rather than after the start/finish for the 200, that way the 100 lot could* have been back to cheer on the 200er's as they went past. *in theory at least, I still think that some of us could get overtaken on t...
