Re: Time to get revenge on Stuart

Stuart you must have upset a lot of riders over the years. Of the GR's that I've got in already, which Reg and I are having a right laugh at plotting them on an over view map.... Only Sean (tobasco) should be kept on your Christmas Card list this year. The rest I think hate you    Ge...

Re: A question - everyone can play.

I see no problem with it, depending on the site.... smallish farmers field with toilet, tap and the option of buying eggs from the farmer. To be honest I've had a post WRT "wobble" and have looked and planned routes around a few quiet sites. All this landowners permission malarkey and the rise in Co...

tent recommendations

I’m after a small tent for the winter that will offer a bit more protection than my Lunar Solo and my hammock. Want it to be as packable as possible but with only a budget of ~£200-£250 I know I can’t afford anything like a Big Agnes. So far the MSR Elixir looks okay, any thoughts/recommendations pl...

Re: WRT

Ditto what everyone else said, missed the mass start but loved the August weather.

Brought loads of food but after eating tea and breakfast at the Star I brought most of it home, ha!

Only 8 months till the next WRT !!!! :-bd

Alpkit Kraku and gas canister issues

I took my new Alpkit Kraku out for its first trip last night. Not sure if I had the flame on too high but once it had cooled and I took it off the canister (a brand new JetBoil canister) something appeared to snap and the gas didn't seal, it all escaped leaving me with an empty canister. There doesn...

Very OT - wtd sit on top kayak

Bit of a long shot but thought I'd try...

I have an inflatable kayak for my daughter but it's got a puncture so looking to replace it as kayaking is a greenlight hobby/exercise.

Just wondering if anyone has a smallish sit on top kayak suitable for a young person I'd be interested.

Cheers

Re: WhereYouAre Ride Thing 2020

Well what a brilliant weekend that was !!!! As about 70% of my riding was done on the Wirral I reckon I can claim that mine still was the WRT 2020. :-bd Only the lite for me on Saturday and Sunday but after all the crap recently it was a good few days plotting a couple of routes. Nothing too excessi...

Re: WRT original weekend (Fri 8th & Sat 9th May) back garden camp out

Plotted my routes tonight and in normal WRT tradition, John has given me a bonus post box grid reference... that is about 300 meters off shore in the River Dee! Going to struggle packing my kayak on the bike so I'm going to miss that out otherwise hopefully it'll be a full house. 😁 Cheers John and h...

Wtd - Alpkit Kraku or similar

I want to ditch my Jetboil for the summer so I've just taken delivery of one of Stu's vaguely exciting magnetic windshields.

Unfortunately my current mini-stove is too big for it so wondering if anyone had an Alpkit Kraku or similar they wanted to part with?

Cheers

Re: feck it. I'm sleeping outside.

I made a plan to kip in the garden every weekend of lockdown, the plan was for my daughter's to join me but they only lasted the first week, ha! 😁

So far I've used tarps, bivy bags and my Lunar Solo but I'm going in style tonight in a tent!
