I've already got a Filo jacket but was thinking more towards the Spring and possibly for something to put on in an evening on the WRT if it turns chilly whilst bivvying. What were temperatures like last year?
I liked the idea of the Rab vests because they pack into their own pockets.

Although Rab C Nesbitt has a cracking vest, I'm looking for something a bit more suitable for bivvying.

It will be used to boost my sleeping bag and for lounging around camp.

So far am torn between the Rab microlight and generator.

Thinking sub 300g and sub £100

Forecast overnight for down here which means a nice mtb ride in the morning and sledging with the kids in the afternoon while town grinds to a halt...

I figure that if I need to treat water on the wrt, I'll carry tabs or boil it.

Living in South London anything will probably taste better than the crap Thames Water send through our taps.

I hadn't really thought much about filtering water. Is it likely to be that much off an issue on the WRT?

I used the tabs in cadets and I remember them making the water taste of chemicals.

Would pouring it through a buff and then boiling it not be enough?

Msr pocket rocket (have given up on meths after it leaked in my bag) and a Merkur DE safety razor but that's not very outdoorsy!

I love the idea of it and having read some of the stories on blogs it sounds amazing but a little boat in the water makes me think too much about Jaws.
