I actually get to ride a bike in a non-commuting fashion this weekend which makes it a very cheery Friday.

It could be, although I see O W O or maybe O V V O, upside down it's OMO? Like I said, it was wasted on me - the hidden meaning that is not the card. Perhaps because I know what a bike frame looks like I cant see past that. I'm guessing it would be quite comfy to ride with all the flex, no doubt the brochure would say 'laterally stiff and vertically compliant'

Of course, it reads the same in both directions. Maybe that's a subtle additional meaning

Depending on how creative your licence is the word Love is in there as well, or Vole maybe.

Just read this in the RSF mag and it made me smile.

Ben Broom Obituary
Mention was made of Ben crossing the Lairig Ghru in snow. But no mention that he was wearing bedroom slippers! Ben said he didn’t want to get his leather cycling shoes wet and thought his slippers would dry quicker.

The RSF are fantastic ... there's a certain spirit within the ranks that I always hope exists here too. Long may it continue.

Cheery Friday had me planning a train and off-road ride tomorrow, but predictions of southeast englandish snowmaggeddon (a mild dusting to the rest of you) had me expecting to have to wimp out.
Now feeling suitably shamed.

Congratulations Dave - apart from them hills, it'll be the best thing you've ever done.

Cheery? I am. I appreciate this'll be very boring for most but I'm still winding down from having a birthday so please humour me ... I've just finished making this for Dee. What was once quite a big piece of wood is now much smaller, bendier and more useful. I'm especially cheery about how the Osage tips turned out and the blonde horn arrow pass.

Thank you Simon. I'll admit that I'm pretty happy with it, especially as it appears to shoot nicely too.

Don't forget the feck off great potholes too Dave. They haven't gotten any smaller either!

Now that is a very nice looking self bow. Is it yew or something more exotic?

Congrats Dave. Going telecommuter or just a feck-off long ride every day? :)

Just Hickory, so less exotic really. Decent Yew staves have become very expensive (if you can find one). Next up is some Hazel that I cut last year and now seems dry enough to work.
