WRT thank you

Once again another year rolls by and another WRT provided by Stuart and Dee.
Thanks for organising and the cake at the end.
Not sure of the final number of riders "out in the hills" but we didn't seem to see many despite the mass of bodies in the farmyard at the start.
Hope everyone enjoyed the banter at the weigh in tent too. :-bd
Matt for the sweepstake.
And whoever brought the extra cake from some of the lonely hearts club.

I'm hoping we can have a pearler of an event for number 10 next year.

Another big thanks from me too, really appreciate the work you put into creating the event for us Dee & Stuart. Despite Saturday's wind a thoroughly enjoyable weekend (yeah, really, despite the aching legs, the days of washing and cleaning to come, the obligatory application of sudacrem...).
I did bump into quite a number of people "out in the hills" (though a lot of this appears to have been "out in the cafes") - good to meet and chat with those I did, everyone seemed to be enjoying it all.

Another brilliant WRT. Thanks to Stuart and Dee for the organising of a mass of wheeled vagabonds.

Thanks too to Taylor and Matt for taking the mick out our kit weights and taking our money for the sweepstake.

All part of the WRT lore...

Better weather than expected. Cracking ride. Cracking tea and cake.

Top stuff...

Si

Big thank you to Stu and Dee for letting me in at the last minute so I could bugger myself rubbing the skin from my private parts and experience a great sleepless night trying to prevent my tarp become a glider! Can't wait for the BB200...

Thank you Stu & Dee for the event! :-bd

I thoroughly enjoyed my first time out, in spite of that bastard headwind up the side of Claerwen on Sunday — met a few people, rode through splendid scenery, cake at the end — result

Will be better prepared for next year — packed lighter and a little less ambitious with the GRs

Yep thanks both for the hard work and for the opportunity of a few days in the real world. Now it's 'back on your heads' again :(. Ta to LHC for being a good crew and enjoying all the silliness. Ta for ensuring the last slice of lemon drizzle didnt disappear til I got back :-bd

Okay, my turn for the thank you's ...

Firstly, I'd like to thank the 156 people who entered. It may not be a massive number when compared to most events but each one is so much more than 'just another number' ... you're the stuff of legend and lore.

I'd like to thank the 126 riders who made it to the start. No riders = No WRT. I'd especially like to thank those who came bearing cake shaped gifts and who gave up their time to help out ... so, Taylor, Matt, Si, Alex, Reg, Wenchie, etc thank you. If I didn't get chance to speak to you, I'm sorry but you probably had a lucky escape.

Some people walked / rode away with some very nice prizes which were kindly and very willingly donated to the cause by companies and individuals. Their details can be found on your WRT T shirt and I'd urge you to look them up the next time you're shopping.

I'd like to thank the people of mid-Wales for their generally understanding attitude. The WRT has now become something they look forward to ... although they do think you're all mad.

I've saved the biggest thank you until last and it goes to Dee. Without her, then there really is no WRT.

I'm very happy to say that this year, the combined efforts of all, have generated over £3300 for the Air Ambulance ... not too shabby.

Next year will be the 10th WRT, so hopefully it'll be a little extra special - same place, same time and once again - THANK YOU.

.....a thank-you from me to the Red Kit Café.

was quite a sight all these groups of rides emerging from the woods and converging on that place, not too different to midges toward a sweaty bikepacker.

the breakfast and tea were most welcome
