WRT

Post by BigdummySteve »

Just wondering if I should enter, although I've ridden jogle on a big dummy with lots of off road and wild camping all the way my bike packing trips are usually overnight trips of 30-50 miles.

So what should I expect....talk me into it :-bd

Really, the only thing you should expect is to enjoy yourself in lovely surroundings with like-minded souls ......... and cake.

The reality will be whatever you choose it to be. For some, that will involve long days and hundreds of miles of solitary riding. For others, cafes and pubs visited will outnumber miles ridden. Neither approach is right or wrong and no one will stand in judgement ... or give a toss

Join us and the lonely hearts club B team, we will eat and drink well with a bit of biking and biving to break it all up. A good bunch last year and we did a few miles, the weather will be changeable the riding will be tough in places, but you will definitely have a great weekend

Can anyone point me in the right direction mapwise, I have all of wales in 1:50k but I presume 1:25k tiles would be useful, I can spend the next few weeks scaring myself by looking at maps :-SS

Brilliant, was wondering which I might need. Waterproof one ordered.
BTW. Much cheaper on eBay than local corporate bookshop.

I've just downloaded the OS 1:25K for my iPhone and ordered a 1:25 & 1:50K card for my garmin, I might get the paper map for some bedtime reading, it's always nice to see the whole picture. Sometimes when you plot a trail on the computer you don't see the full enormity of what is about to befall you X_X

Blimey, only 3 weeks to go until GRs. The tension mounts!

Just booked the Star Inn Penthouse Suite with Executive Private Fine-Dining for Friday night. I love contrasts and that should contrast very nicely with the following nights of Waterlogged Disused Football Pitch with Potnoodle.

Trouble is if we "Go South", that'll then be up and down that hill about a million times within the space of a couple of days - I guess one could vary it by using the BB200 Masochist Finale route to get to BB Towers on Sat morning...hmmm..

Hi Scott will be good to see you, summarised it nicely there. Although I guess we're no longer "lonely hearts"? Do we have to invent a new group name for this year? "Broken Hearts" maybe? New like-minded souls still very welcome presumably, whatever we're called. Chew does a brilliant and much-appreciated job with his dating agency too of course as we found out last year :-).

Funny you should mention that Reg. Chew will be beasting himself on the CL this year, which leaves a rather big hole in the LHC escape committee - I wondered whether you might consider filling it?

Lets call it Apprentice B@stard

Sure you'll be fine. You may find a few more experienced people wanting to join in (Thinking Artie), so you wont be totally on your own.

Yes I quite agree a new group name is required, but as I see you have taken the gauntlet from Chew to lead the Lhc, the B team could be called Regless? I think there needs a count of heads to see who wants to ride with the Lhc and if not too many, Regless could join you guys ?
