That's what Mike's humming to himself in the picture Bob ... in fact he did it continually for 3 days.

Ar*e, really wanted to do this for the first time, but have already paid my monies and accommodation for Charlie the Bikemongers Gravel Dash which clashes. It's always the good events that clash

Just entered for the first time. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I'm sure it's going to be fun of some type.

"I have no idea what I'm doing" - excellent, you'll fit right in.

"going to be fun of some type" - ah, and things were going so well there for a moment...

Nothing set in stone Ben but it takes about 3 weeks to get the T shirts sorted out, so I'll say before April 1st as that also means I don't have to send out GR twice.

I'll get this in early then - anyone from the Wendover/Herts/NE M25 direction area driving up? Fuel-share / general bribery for a lift? PM if so, I can ride to the M25 or M1 junctions in this area pretty easily.

I'm going up with some mates from Berkhamsted, not sure how many yet, so not sure if we'll have a space, but get in touch with me in a few weeks if you're still stuck for lift.

Thanks Richard - I'm just up the road from you. Will get back to you to see if you have space.

£12,000 to the Welsh Air Ambulance!

That's something to be proud of Stu. I know without Dee, your little helpers and riders actually turning up to ride, it wouldn't happen, but I think you deserve credit for that :-bd

your little helpers
Some are quite big

Actually, I suppose what I'm most proud of is the fact that we've been able to raise that money without penalising the riders in order to do it. There's always been T shirts, prizes and cake and this year's the first time we've raised the entry fee in 8 years ... due to the global price hike in tea and margarine  The fact that everyone can have a jolly nice time* for 3 days, go home with a T shirt and maybe something else (if they're lucky) for £25 and still raise a reasonable amount of cash is great

*obviously subjective.

James, if I go I'm also likely to be driving up so welcome to come up with me. Very likely to have space in the car as I'll probably be on my tod

That is an impressive dosh-raised figure, compliments to you Stu. And it's on top of the munificence we dispense as we walk/ride round as well, as discussed in earlier topics. But just wondered, if giftaid isn't currently involved, could it be? Or too much faff on top of all the rest of the org that you have to do?

I'm not sure it'd work Reg, well, not without becoming a real minefield. When someone enters they're not making any form of charitable donation, they're simply paying BB for goods / services. It's only once the fat lass finally shuts up, that we hand whatever money is left over to the Air Ambulance - I will mention it to someone who's much more clued up than me though.
