I did exactly this at work. months of education for staff and young people. Healthy eating plans all that kind of stuff failed to make any difference.

But the 24cm plates and smaller pudding bowls have done the trick

Here are my stats for yesterday. It's all gone west on the weight – back up to 84.5kg (what I weighed at new year). My waist/gut is down though, at 34.5" (an inch less than new year).

I'm just back from 3 days riding in Wales.

Doing 3800m total ascent isn't going to have put on a kilo of muscle, is it?

It's pies, isn't it…

Updated. Basically where I want to be at the moment. Up about a kg from my lowest, but I was expecting to be. Now to stay somewhere within 1kg of that.

Body fat is down a bit, which means muscle is up... which is exactly what I wanted from recomp.

Here is the latest (ever decreasing in numbers) update. I have moved the people with less than one update off the graph to reduce the clutter.

So week 12 (ish) already, this year if flying past.

I have made the 85 kg mark - half way to my target of 80 kg by 31.12.17. I have lost around 6.3% of my body weight by doing nothing other than eating less - no secret sauce or magic diet - just eating the same old stuff but reducing the volume eaten. I completely agree on getting smaller plates, it works a treat. I just go by this; more energy (calories consumed) than energy used (calories burnt) then it goes to fat. You cant help it, its just physics. '

For those of us struggling to maintain the focus, seeing their weight go up due to a number of external factor's etc. - keep going. Hard times come for all of us and we deal with it in a host of different ways (me, I comfort eat.. its the Labrador in me...). Just try to remember that when you can, think about the food you are eating. Don't panic of feel all stressed about losing weight, just think today I can eat healthy as tomorrow I have no options and due to work etc. I will only have takeaway available to eat. Just don't eat all the takeaway.... its ok to leave food on your plate.

What am I saying... i don't know, its hard. Sometimes very hard. Its a complex relationship with food as you have to eat to live, just be happy and at least think before eating if nothing else.Keep at it fellow fat fighters!

Good luck all and can I have a role call for the WRT i.e. who is going etc...

After gaining weight last time - I seem to have lost double this week with just maintaining my fitness. Figure that one out ?!?!

For the first time in a year - My weight in Kg's starts with an 8 :-bd

Finally got around to jumping on the scales.
For the record I'm 80kg today.
So I've dropped 2kg since Jan.
The new job and change of career should be help me to loose a bit more as I'll be more active than I was as a rep sitting in a car.

Had a great weekend , bikepacked 114miles through London, mostly offroad.
I genuinely felt strong pretty much all the time, rode all the hills, with a couple of stiff ones in there. I think my LCHF way of eating really helped as I've got used to burning fat.
Some of the weight loss will be dehydration so I expect it to go back up somewhat but very glad to be getting away from the irksome 16st sticking point.

I'd set myself a 'target' of 10st 7lb for my birthday as that would have been the lightest I can recall ever weighing. However, I fell short by a couple of pounds but that's still a loss of a stone and 5% body fat (down ftom 21% to 16% ... I know these scales aren't accurate but I figure using the same scales / parameters the relationship between the readings must mean something). Anyway, I'll carry on and hopefully find out what it feels like to weigh less than 10.5 stone within the next week or so.

Keep up the good work everyone, hopefully the arrival of spring will make things easier.

Holding steady this week...66Kg post slash this morning. Had a moment at the start of the week eating crap and having a minor freakout that I'd jumped back up a kilo but sorted that out quick smart. GIGO applies to humans as well.

Put on 4kg since the Braunton 150. Some of that will be fat, but I've got water retention on a level I've never seen before.

Everything is puffy, I can barely get my shoes on.

72.3kg for me this weekend :) (edited as I still appear to have fat fingers!)

However I've had real issues walking and with weakness and pain in my neck and arms - so feeling rubbish but thiner. Not sure if it's my body responding to my first long ride last weekend or the diet . . . But either way I shall be keeping a close eye on everything

My body goes haywire after a big effort, typically a day or two later I'm substantially heavier than going into the event/effort but after a week or so I'll settle back down and will be lighter. I think it's the body going "what the hell was that?" and over compensating.

Not sure what was going on last week to lose double (was it just water loss?) but this week has seen it go back up again, but below where I was 2 weeks ago
To try and get over this variability, I'm now tracking my 3 wk average - Still going down :-bd

I'm not quite back to where I was, but it's heading in the right direction. I must admit that I panicked a bit when I saw that number. :lol:

Now I just need to sort out this injury I picked up on the Braunton. Really hope I'm OK for WRT. :sad:
