Saw this on the news section of STW and thought I'd share:

http://adventurecyclefestival.co.uk

This not-for-profit festival aims to inspire people to use bikes for adventure, whether that’s a day in the mountains, a coast-to-coast epic, or an overnight bikepacking trip. Based at the spectacular location of Brathay Hall on the shores of Windermere, the Event Village will provide a hub from where exciting organised activities will launch including a ‘cross challenge event’, guided overnight bikepacking trips across the Lakes, a loaded hill climb challenge, and self-guided trips. There will be the chance to try demo bikes and equipment from major brands, plus attend workshops, lectures and film screenings, and of course an evening bar with live music.

I shall be in attendance in an 'official' capacity ... but don't let that put you off.

Pity its the Highland trail week. I suppose if you managed a sub 6 day ride you could make it down....
That weekend I will mainly be eating and sleeping I suspect

TBC - but looking like both Friday and Saturday for the TD - also doing a shorter one about training and nutrition.

I suspect I'll be quite tired :)

Has anyone given any thought to where they're staying yet? It would appear than on-site accommodation doesn't run to tents, so I was thinking the Low Wray campsite down the road on Sat night?

Fancy joining me on an easy laid back ride on quiet roads to pub for food, with one off road climb to this bivi spot?

And just 14 miles in total.

I don't think I'll be there. Highland trail the weekend before and an event at the Edinburgh cycling festival the weekend after.

Sounds good though.
