I'm after something with a bit more tread than a Chronicle for the front.

Dirt Wizard looks good but they're not readily available & cost over £100 for the 120 tpi version!

Rims are Rabbit Holes set up tubeless.

Suggestions?

After tring and selling my Chronically, I'm now using Bontrager Chupacabra's

Much better than the Knards and roll almost as well as them as well.
Knards for summer, Chupacabra's for wet and winter.

In deep mud they are no Dirt Wizard but how much of your over all ride will be in these conditions to merit Dirt Wizards

Chronicles are better in mud than chuppas, bombos are chuppas with slightly bigger knobs so will be a bit better but DW's are the ones unless you can source some duro crux's which look ace. Bothy bikes in Aviemore have plenty of DW's in stock not sure of price but much less than £100. Chronicles work much better in the mud at lower pressures as the big side knobs then start to dig in.

Not tried the buldozers but they do look good for mud. Next day tyres have them in so may give them ago at some point

I really must disagree about chupas in mud....slippy clay in particular....they will attempt to kill you dead!

I've just fitted a pair of black chilli conti mountain kings in a 2.4 flavour to my trek stache, and they work flawlessly on the mulefut rims, and can go to 11-12psi without any obvious signs of squirmage! They are also pretty light, roll very well, and grip like doo-doo to the proverbial blanket in the clag, whilst clearing quickly. Coupled with the fact that I now have masses of clearance, they have solved my headache!

I've sacked off the Dirt Wizard from my front. They've got a very square profile and I found it struggled to find grip in a lot of conditions - wet grass and firm mud in particular were kryptonite to it.

I run a Nobby Nic up there now (45mm Dually rim), it's an infinitely better winter tyre and you can now get them in a 2.6".

Doesn't look like the Magnum Pro, which is what Manitou recommend for 29+ as far as I can tell...
