Ok it’s the middle of ‘summer’ but another date for your riding calendar.

This year we’re going to head up to the Lakes

I’ll update the finer details nearer to the time, but expect a ~30k ride to the pub, sleep out in the wilds, ~30k ride back
Pace will be sociable, expect some climbing (it is the lakes) and questionable route choices.....

Meet up at Daisy's Cafe in Ambleside (Rydal Road) at noon for a brew and toast, for a 1pm depart

30k ride over some classic trails to the pub, before biving out somewhere nearby.
30k ride back in the morning for more tea and toast.

Can't do that weekend due to number one child's birthday...

I'll probably do something closer to home the following weekend if that is better for people.

To be fair George and I had a chat about it at Bearstock, so it's just a case of someone setting the date.

I'm going to tentatively put my hand up for this on account of usually being a bit wimpy in the winter. I might be in New Zealand for work though, which would be tragic

hi missed this thread till just now, I have been racking my brain and think i have a few ideas, will mark them up on a gpx and send them through/ go try a few things out and send you some ideas through chew, been busy planning my lakes 200 attempt for this weekend since bearstock to think about this really yet.

I'll find out if I can make it as well this year, missed last years for some reason but will need to check with the boss in doors as we've a mark 2 model coming in the beginning of January so I might be 50/50 to availability.

Aye. Due to number one child's birthday this weekend rarely works so I'm planning on a renegade/billy-no-mates/antisocial alt.bivy the weekend after. Likely to be peak based and more than happy for people to come along as I'm not actually antisocial!

Don't want to tempt people away from the proper winter outings though. This won't be as good

No idea what plans are in December yet but pencilled the date in just in case :)
