I will be having my first bike bivi trip out tonight, riding out to my local spot, Stiperstones to test out my bike and gear etc.

I have a 20L Alpkit dry big which is holding my sleeping bag, bivi bag, a small groundsheet and a insulation jacket, its weighs around 2.8kg, attached to the Kanga harness(Its my sleeping back that is heavy).

Also on the front are 2 x Alpkit stem cells which hold gas can, cooking stove, pot & cup, plus a few snacks and small camera. I also have a fuel pod up front with mobile, head torch, money etc.

Then I have a 13L Alpkit dry bag on the rear which will carry a few items including sleeping mat, poo kit & food etc. 2x camelbak bottles will provide water.

Is their anything else that is missing or that you guys would take?

I am looking at getting a small tarp soon too. I know a lot of if will be trial and error......but looking forward to it as I then intend on planning a 2/3 day trip from Shrewsbury to Aberystwyth, following the cycle path 81, Lon Cambria. :-)

A small first aid kit isn't a bad shout, alot on here will think its overkill but I've always been the cautious one.
Not expecting it to save your life but a few basics will make you comfortable should you get a few scrapes and cuts.

I've built mine using basic kit from Wilkos and a small ziploc, never leave the house without it.

A backup torch or spare batteries isn't a bad shout either, and you'll use one more knowing you can keep it powered longer.
