Good show Eric, a fine photo journal. Looks like you still enjoyed yourself despite the niggles. Great effort for a pensioner, you are a pensioner aren't you?
Given your likeness to him and your aversion to oil burners, I think I'm going to call you Bin Diesels.

Bin Diesels.. Ha Ha ! Better than Bin Laden.. what !
A few months back at the supermarket there was a builders lorry chug chug chugging away, stationary, and a big fat (is it allowed to say that ?) person (ah... that softens the blow a bit...) sitting in the passenger seat, half asleep, and I couldn't resist telling him those PM10's cause cancer, and in London (Islington) the council were starting to impose fines... when I told my woman about it later she said you'd better be careful - she's right of course but even pushing my trolley I could have outrun him !! Yes I'm a pensioner... but only I'm only 73 and I've not finished yet !
I do think that soon the councils/government will have to start imposing fines for "idling" - at the supermarket taxis wait there chugging away for many minutes, and when they are loading their food in the boot they are breathing that crap directly !!! Bloody stupid...
(there are regulations passed years ago re idling but nobody bothers)

Really good write up. Brings back some good memories...except climbing the tree on the postman's path. Don't know why they call it the postman's path, he never delivered letters there, he's a blatant liar
Pictures are beautiful as well.

Added to my must read list ...
Ps not sure if she's posting on here but go to the adventure syndicate and read Lee Craigies first two chapters. Totally ace stuff.

Inspiring! Here's me at 59 thinking that I've only got at best a few years of this lark left, and you're doing still doing this

Great stuff Eric and as above - amazing photos. Looking at your shots of the Northern section and the track up from Lochinver to Lochan Gaimh, and remembering what it was like last year.....

Enjoyed that, Eric
You know that gate after Erchless Castle? There's a lock on the chain, but the other end of the chain is on a hook, so you just undo it... No lifting required!
Very jealous of the views you got around Glen Golly and over the Bealach Horn
And the ever magical Fisherfield - great views there too

How many others knew that I wonder ?

More time than you lot to take pictures... (last year I took none over that section, I was in the middle of a battle... to survive !)

Wow... That is an amazing trip... gorgeous weather and fantastic pictures.
Top effort. All these reports of the HT550 route are starting to make me want to pay a visit and see what it's all about... (I think).
No small undertaking that's for sure.
