Re: Twixmas
Cheers for that Mike D...yeah...that'd be good. I can throw the train fare into your tank instead. Let me know if you have a preferred route to get from A to B and I'll add it into my majik box.

Matt - What time are you going to be leaving Aberdyfi?
Re: Twixmas
10am? Then it's casual speed to get to Stu's for 1 unless BBT fancy meeting us up at Glas Llyn?
Re: Twixmas
Glaslyn may be a better idea - I'll have a look at a map

Planning on riding in from Llanbadarn Fynydd on the TCW if anyone fancies joining me.
Should be about 55 milesish.

Are you planning on doing the river crossing? I imagine that would be running fast and deep now. Take some floaties :)Chicken Legs wrote:Planning on riding in from Llanbadarn Fynydd...

Re: Twixmas
The first big ford on the TCW is at Llanbadarn Fynydd. The route comes down the hill, across the A road and then down into the ford. Take the A road to the south and use the bridge. The river wasn't over waist deep, but it was flowing fast in November...with all the rain we've had, you might just want to avoid it.

Thanks, I am going to park at the Church in Llanbadarn Fynydd and will avoid the river as you have suggested

I was planning to go the direct route via Hafren.10am? Then it's casual speed to get to Stu's for 1 unless BBT fancy meeting us up at Glas Llyn?

Re: Twixmas
That's just avoiding hills and a push
Re: Twixmas
I think it'll make more sense to ride from Stuart's if my blistering pace isn't going to put people off!
Re: Twixmas
Right see you at BBT
Hoping for a casual pace and then with 1km to go, hammer down to get there 1st and avoid sleeping in the annexe

Re: Twixmas
whats the flooding like down your way Stu??? are there any river crossings on your route?
Re: Twixmas
If it's the direct route I'd doubt it. Generally hardpack forest roads and country lanes.Lawmanmx wrote:Are there any river crossings on your route?
May be a bit wet underfoot and damp across the Hafren bridge, but nothing to worry about.

Scott, My limited IT skills have caught up with me and it seems messages aren't working for me.
Will pick you up 9-30ish tomorrow, sun, but you will have to remind me where home is, I can almost remember but not quite.

Re: Twixmas
Apparently there's a landslip stopping traffic leaving Beaumaris ATM - hopefully sorted by the morning or I'll be swimining the Menai Straights to get away from the in laws!
