Northern Winter Bivi - DELAYED START

will we need food for tea/ cooking equipment or does evening food at the pub mean on the bivi night or when we get back ?

In true Northern style we'll be visiting the Pub on Saturday evening/night, and then theres plenty of options once we're back in Hebden Sunday lunchtime. No need to bring any cooking stuff unless you feel the need to make your own breakfast.

Balls, I'm out. Having vehicular issues (well rust issues, the car is fine broadly speaking, and I don't trust the RX-8 just yet as I only just got that fired up at the weekend..., and 20mpg is no fun on the motorway!) at the moment that I need to sort out, and I dunno how quickly I can learn to weld!

I think the answer will mostly be dictated by whether or not it's raining ... I'd guess if it's properly grim, the odd tent might even sneak in.

I think I'm still free, better check what I still have in the way of winter riding gear though... and maybe see if I can fit my sleeping bags inside each other if it doesn't warm up a bit!

I'd be prepared for the worst. It'll either be cold and dry or warm and wet.

If you dont have a tarp you can borrow one from me.

I'd wait until the week before to see what the forecast says and do from there. Forecast is for it to warm up a bit after this weekends frost.

nothing as then less wet clothes...

but if you arte goinmg to ware something...
Legs:
i think im going for thermal bib tighhts
with shorts over for pockets
and if its wet have some cheep waterproof trousers over them


merino base layer on top
then a mid laye rof some kind depending how cold or not it is
then on the top my paramo smock as its the only thing that is super comfy and totaly water proof the bulkyness sis fine as it just ties to the back of my little camel back bnut tbh you dont have to take it off as can open all the vents.
