Any online sourced for local information?

I am planning a light route in a part of the country I am not familiar with - I have mapped my route using bikehike to create a GPX file but now I am struggling to find information relating to the nearest SPAR / COOP stops and pubs or cafes.
Do you guys have online resources you use for locating that type of thing in advance?

Damn, wrong forum section  ... have no fear, now all present and correct. :-bd

Yeah i have used street view a lot for looking at small villages in Wales to see what's there.

Google maps also has a lot of pubs marked. Just go to the bit of the map you are interested in and search for "pubs".

Tourist information sites for areas often list the facilities in the area.

Talkytoaster maps are good for pubs and shops when zoomed in.

Spar.co.uk and coop food version are actually pretty handy.
Thanks for all the hints and tips :)

Me too! Rosehall shop was a particular highlight although it's sadly now shut

Are you going on a secret mission Lughnasadh or can you tell us where you are going?

Just trying to join a few different tracks together for an over night loop.
Starts in dunkeld heads through the hills to straloch then up into the edge of the cairngorms where I think it shares a part if the outer cairngorm loop down through glen tilt. Down to pitlochry then up to loch broom and back down to dunkeld. Roughly 70 miles but more of an exploration of unknown territory for me.
It looks like the only shops on route are in dunkeld and pitlochry from what I can find.

Dave b, looking forward to seeing your maps.
