No bike stuff this week, as the music bicycle got its annual upgrade. 10 meters of velcro for some cable pr0n, a tube preamp and an ebay special...75Kg of 12U acoustic cabinet...retail of 1200-1800 depending on vendor...paid 100. Nearly feel sorry for the seller. Ripped out the old noisy fans and replaced them with quiet Noctua Redux fans. Now instead of hard disk chatter/spindle whine/fan noise, I get to deal with my tinitus, which has been caused by the aforementioned noise. :( I should've gotten one of these cabinets 15 years ago and saved my hearing. Hindsight is a bitch sometimes.

Me too. Don't mean to dis it but seems to have redundant straps round the drybag itself? And what stops the main straps rubbing the bars? (although that wouldn't worry me TBH, I've never bothered with a harness at all and my bars miraculously haven't worn through yet.. who'd have thought an aluminium pipe could be so tough  ).

Still, it says it has a "built-in thermal mat" so fair enough  .

Wish I knew what all that meant ... it sounds great and a bargain too.

I received the last bits for a wheel build yesterday - a load of rather long spokes and 14mm nipples. Ive added them to the box with my second-hand 135mm front hub, a new but cheap enough 170mm rear and two bargain 650B+ rims from Germany (yaaaaaah Germany!!!) Give me a couple of weeks of sweat and swearing and I will have finally a set of 650B+ wheels for my OO Fatty. Ive got £50 left in my budget for tyres, so if anyone wants to offload a couple of 2.8 or 3 inchers, let me know. Dont care which ones. Apparently they are all rubbish

It certainly does sound great.

Like dealing with wiring looms? Then this will appeal. Otherwise, look away now. ;) Without velcro, it's madness back there, even in my modest little setup. One day, I'll get my act together and make custom cable runs of correct length, but for now I just hope I don't make it to /r/cablefail (one for the Reddit users hereabouts).
Unlike cats, spaghetti-like cabling can be somewhat tamed given enough velcro.

Back from a week in the glorious Italian sunshine to the grisly Mancunian rain, meaning I didn't really have the motivation to try the two lovely carbon tent poles that have arrived. Cheers Stu.

New (blue) airbed from Exped, it's the Airmat Hyperlite MW, from Germany as it's not available here in the UK as yet, or it wasn't when I ordered it
It replaces the yellow Thermorest, as it's a bit lighter, packs smaller but most importantly it's wider at the shoulder and arms so that I can sleep on my back without my arms falling off the side waking me up.

And at last I've found a quality head torch, with high power and a green filter at an offer price of £40 rather than the list price of £55

Everything to turn my 26" Inbred 2x9 into a 1x11 XT.

Hopefully I'm not going to regret it, but I think I already have as I bought a 32t ring instead of a 30t to go with the 11-42 cassette.

I was thinking 30t would be better for loaded touring/bikepacking.

And saved a little weight too, 200g.

And got a almost brand new montane prism jacket for £50 black/orange. Very happy with it.

Taste test soon. Question is; try them at home, or risk doing it while camping and finding they're rubbish? I guess the only fair method is to do it for real....

I took a punt on a couple of these, at worst they will make a change from the usual noodles or mounting horse meals :-bd
