I bought Stu's Lair with the full fitted bug mesh because I thought the full mesh a good idea. When I erected it I realised I wouldn't be able to stay in my bag and safely fire up the stove for a brew. If the mesh caught light it would be difficult to get out.
Having altered my Hunka to have a bug mesh I have taken out the bug net from the Lair (excepting a half inch fringe to avoid unpicking seams) and I now have a near standard Lair weighing 187g less than it did and with less bulk.
This exercise is more breaking than making but a 149g saved in total, less bulk and a more versatile outer is worthwhile methinks
