It developed a fast fail leak that I successfully repaired 2 years ago. It now has a slow leak from the same repair , taking 4 or 5 pumps over night.

Currently trying to repair but if this fails what should I look at? The equivalent I think is this Ultra 5r https://ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk/ult ... eping-mat/

A lighter option would be the Ultra 3r https://ultralightoutdoorgear.co.uk/ult ... eping-mat/

I think you've got the models right, I've the Hyperlight and it matches up with the 3R range. The Hyperlight/3R has been fine for year round UK use, Cath used hers on a bivy in Rovaniemi at -16C so capable of quite a bit more.

Worth getting the wide model if you can, I felt like I was perched on my standard width Winterlight (the same as the first one you linked to) but the wide version feels much better.

This is what Imgetting next Phil. Older version going strong for 5 years despite a recent very slow leak (but doesn't need pumping overnight). Plus, reports are that they'd repair or replace for the newer version. 4.5r at only 350g is fantastic and Shewie (gaffer at Trek-lite and member here) seems to agree. Less crisp packet feeling too and the pump nozzle been upgraded to easier blowing too...

Same happened to me. Send it off to them, they'll repair it free and post it back free as well.... the 'patch on the patch' is very thorough and it's been fine...

Or of course you could treat yourself anyway .

Yep the 5R is the Winterlite, 3R the Hyperlite...

It has been my only mat so over specced for most of the year but has been great on those occasional frozen floors.

I suspect the 3r would be much more sensible for most of the time. But for a few grams I think I prefer the feeling of that extra insulation.

And yes I'd definitely go long and wide.

Not considered sending it off before. Will see how the repair works
