I will endeavour to have my gear ready before I go away for Christmas, because there's next to zero chance I'll get it done between Christmas and the event.

Would really like to make it to this one, after last year's disaster of not actually being able to get to my bike.

May as well turn a buck out of it  .

Could do with a snowy/icy one this time but not getting my hopes up.

Power Seeker eh? Where's the nearest hydro-electric scheme? No shortage of windfarms to head for either!

These are the kind of BB events i'd like to do, but the timing of the WRT and winter event never works for my family commitments. I like the theme! Immediately thought Trawsfynydd, but a quick check and there's plenty of smaller power stations, Rheidol, Ffestiniog of course, and isn't there a small one at the base of Llyn Brianne dam? Judging from the BB200 comments, nobody would be in a hurry to go down the Doethie to get there!

If I had a weekend pass, i'd like to give it a go, and agree it would be great if it was cold :-bd

Ditch the family, the Winter Event and WRT are the only "event" that most of us do each year.

Give it a go, you know you want to

Entered. Remarkably I have yet to miss a winter event. My memory of the first one to Mach and back was being the middle of three, and warm, on a ground sheet between Mark and Ken on a night of zeroish temperatures.

I am surprised that neither health or bad weather ( being unable to get there) as occurred over the years. Hoping my run continues.

Ffestiniog?! Brianne?! I'll be lucky if I get further than the pub at Dinas Mawddwy or Ponterwyd  . Rheidol though... hmmm..

Still, Stu's probably laughing his head off 'cos it's probably nowt to do with our power grid  .

Indeed...my money's on politics, landed gentry, the disenfranchised underclass, a distinct lack of energy supply, or quite simply tussocks so huge you wish you had more power to overcome them

Or something Clarkson-related :O)

I'm in. I'm already building the route in my head. Some roads and trails I want to piece together, which is what I did last year and really enjoyed it....

I've just Googled "Power Seekers meaning"
And the reply was....

"Who are the power seekers?
Oftentimes they're people who, for whatever reason, feel powerless, weak, or scared inside.
They seek control or power over others because it makes them feel safe or less fearful."

Read into that what the hell you want to.....

Blimey John, that's deep, that's heavy. I thought I was just going for a ride and maybe sleep in some pub car park in the snow somewhere. But now I'm having to reconsider my entry after all. Jaysus, maybe even my whole life. I wonder if Stu'll give me a refund.

Help, help, I'm having an existential crisis.

Just phoned Auntie Pauline to check that my Wynnstay email reservation had got through from a couple of weeks ago. It had.

Only one room left for you to fight over  .
