Multi Day Parking Dumfries & Galloway?

Post by Escape Goat »

Hi,

Just wondered if anyone had any places they’d recommend to park for a bit up in Dumfries?

Thanks,

Allen

Open to suggestion really, I’d like to be around the forest ideally.

There'll be places to park in Castle Douglas & Newton Stewart. You can easily ride from Newrton Stewart into Kirrogtree..
There's places at the side of the road at the south end of Clattering Shores, on the A712, but i'm not sure if i'd want to leave a vehicle there for more that one night..

Allan, another option is Moffat on the eastern edge of D&G and a great route into the back of Ae forest via NCN 10 - thereafter various options to go further into the area. Easy to get too off the M74 and you can park up for free in the town centre right by the main street. It also has a good Co-op!
