If you keep going left you should end up at the cafe again in time for lunch :-bd

In case I get waylaid with work in a bit, which is highly likely...

Next time you're in need of a decision:

Head for a church with a graveyeard, find a headstone you particularly like, and send us a photo of same and tell us why you chose this one.

Good call V.

O-kaayyyyy... this is turning out not quite as expected (or of course maybe it is entirely predictable being you lot... )...

So here we are... back at the cafe!! I hadn't seen Shewie's message - prescient though  . Bit bizarre considering I've been up two steep hills. I think I'm trapped in an Escher drawing.

I think I'll have a well deserved brew then while we think what to do next.

Obviously the next choices will be exactly the same and you'll send me left again won't you, so I've got an idea. I'll ask the nice owner lady to spin me round a few times, stop me at random, then I'll give you the 'same' choices again.

PS. Yes I'm in the same seat and I swear it's still warm from my previous visit.

OK she's done the deed and spun me round a few times in the cafe which has baffled the Normals for some reason. Nice lady called Laura.

So you choose from points 1 2 3 or 4 from my right (same as last time but I may or may not be pointing the same direction of course).

I'll drink my tea and await events.

I reckon you should go in the opposite direction to last time. Is that suitably uninformed enough?

Point 3 please Reg.

Exact opposite? That's number 4 as it happens, and it leads to.... oh look.... a very steep hill. Well it did last time didn't it so that's not a big surprise.

I can see from here that's it's quite a slog, and it'll be 'choose a pub' in 40 minutes, so to give you a break I'll keep going until then and check back in when I've found one.

(Sorry Shaf, Bear just nipped in first there. Bit annoying really because 3 would have been downhill!)

Lol... I typed too slow. Glad it's all going well. Hopefully some pics of the hills/DHs and some OS grid ref info so we can see more of the adventure

Well that was certainly a hill. Long road climb of about 160m/500ft. Doctored photo down to the bottom of the hill just to prove it.

Image

I came to a junction at the top so continued Bear's run and took a left. Fortuitously this lane ran along the top of an escarpment with stupendous views to the.. well I won't tell you which compass point.

Image

There was a watertrough on this lane where I could have topped up but of course after recent weather it was dry. Ho hum. Nothing for it but to find the nearest boozer and have a pint as 'Radars requested  .

Since I had no directions to go on I just followed the scarp as far as I could then dropped off the end of it into the village of ***** ******* and popped into the ***** ****. Fantastic steep drop down a hollow way...

Gawd knows where they got this glass from because the contents definitely aren't Tetley's.

Yeah need to find a graveyard ta.

So no I am NOT going 500' back up onto the scarp, sorry   .

NW along an interesting-looking track?
W along another track?
S down a lane which leads to a green lane?
E below the scarp to a little hamlet?

There is a plover's egg resting on a wall here.

Go on then. If I'm honest, not the choice I was hoping for you'll be pleased to know  .

Oh, and cash only

I'll check in again at....erm.... half one? We can see what's at the next junction after that point.

I am currently about 4 miles from my start point after half a day's riding

Reg is there a way I can send you up a long steep hill, take three left turns and back up the same long steep hill? Failing that, perhaps you can do a figure 8 and pass through the same cross roads 4 times? Does that sound at all familiar?

Well "unsuitable for motors" might have said "unsuitable for MTBs" as below. So a bit slower than we thought - make the next check-in, say, 13.50 not 13.30 then....

First, second or third?

Oops hang on sorry ;). Second got duplicated.
