I have the 'large' one, it's excellent, I really like the food bag on top and the way it attaches, so simple yet secure. I have fitted a Lanshan Pro 1 tent, sleeping bag (Pipedream 200), mat and pillow in it so plenty of space. I've used it on the road bike doing the NC500 and also of froad doing various trips and it hasn't let me down.

The only minor, and I mean really minor, critism is the straps can slip a bit when its new, this can be avoided by doubling back on the buckles but its a bit fiddly. When the straps get a bit of mud and grime on then they are secure.

It's a lovely bit of kit, pricey but I have no regrets and It'll probably outlast me, it feels very solid!

@rich.mike cheers for the reply but I suppose I should have been a bit clearer.

I’m considering this one

No experience with this i'm afraid, but I generally like restrap stuff and they seem to build stuff very well. However, I couldn't cope with something that attaches to the headtube, I just don't get bags/harnesses that do this... :???: That bag looks really well thought out up until that point...

I’ve got one. Pricy, but I really rate it.
Lived on the gravel bike since the end of the summer. The compression system works really well.
I had to fashion a stand off, but once I’d done that it’s rock solid (I used one of these and a sturdy zip tie up to the bar https://www.cycle-revolution.net/access ... qiEALw_wcB) can send a pic of it helps - doesn’t attach to the headtube, I’ve got some one wrap round the accessory bar.

I have a Roadrunner Jammer and rate it. Given Restrap ripped off the design I expect their version will be fine, with a little added shame.

Seems like Restrap have a habit of ripping off other bag makers designs. I called them out over their blatant copy of the Bedrock Tapeats Bag with their Tech Bag. They claimed never to have heard of/seen it before. Bollox.

Yes I see that similarity but is that not the case with other companies also with regard to bikepacking kit. Case in point the Straightcut design handlebar harness and the Wildcat one. I suppose we are sometimes driven by other factors not consciously thinking it’s a rip off of another design, ie price, material used, even colour choices

I would like to make it known that the concept of a rear harness that holds a separate dry bag was developed in the space between my ears. Knowing that (a) it seemed like a good idea and (b) I wouldn't do anything with it, I gave it to Ian and Beth who developed it. Therefor, by my reckoning, the entire luggage industry should now all club together and buy me something nice. :-bd

This thread has taken an entertaining Cheery Friday style of direction (I'm just trying to picture, and failing dismally, 'Routes cavorting starkers in the heather, possibly whilst The Hills Are Alive With The Sound Of Music blaring in the background).

Black? Are you sure that's a good idea?

I designed the Lion harness over 10 years ago and for much of that time it hasn’t been copied. Isn’t imitation the greatest form of flattery?

I’d just like to say that turning the space between your ears into a working and saleable product is a lot harder than it sounds

turning the space between your ears into a working and saleable product
On that basis I should have invented the vacuum flask.

It is indeed but the greatest of forest fires start with a single spark - you should know that
