Removable arms..... for side sleepers

My memory foam mattress is 15" or so deep, my air beds used for camping aren't.

So, to help me (a side sleeper the wrong side of 50) get comfortable when away from home why can't our arms be removable?**

Wouldn't it be nice, say if you were laying on your left, you use your right arm to simply remove/unclip/twist off your left arm so you can get comfortable and sleep well on a small thin air mattress?

Or is it just me who finds their side sleeping lower arm very much in the way and hard to get comfortable on a thin and narrow'ish air mattress?

** I may have had a long day and a couple of drinks and I'm maybe over thinking the situation.

sleep on your side but raise or extend your lower arm under your head. and rest your head on that and your pillow.
alternatively half sleep on your side with spare gear under your back for support. (spine and upper side).
I could send you a video to demonstrate all the above
but I sleep in my birthday suit.. .. I'm modest and don't want to make you jealous of my trim figure

This may sound strange, but cross your arms over your chest, and lightly hold each shoulder with the opposite hand - kind of like Dracula, in his coffin.
Once you've adopted this posture, lying on either side is much more comfortable.

A modification of Dracula that I like is, sleeping on right side for example, select Dracula, roll onto right side, then move right hand down between your head and pillow such that it's cupping your bonce with the palm heel in your right temple.

Anyway, wot you worried about JC, I've always said that, like the Earth, you're mostly 'armless  .

and hopefully wait for the morning dawning...
I can't wait for the mass Hammer Horror BAM!

Now I think back, it is only the lower arm that I use to hold the opposite shoulder to get comfortable.
YMMV, essentially you are just getting off that arm. also mat be a bit more padding under your shoulders may improve comfort..

Who's tag is it that says something like don't expect a full night's sleep while camping, just expect a series of naps. That is very much me sleeping on the ground. Different story in a hammock.

On the Dracula front, remember that the are tent pegs, not stakes

I tried that but then I can feel my pulse in my temple and it is annoying when trying to get to sleep.

Like when you have your ear pressed against the pillow and then you can hear your pulse... or is that just me?

Time to be creative.
Create a gap for your arm while still supporting your body.
Buy a cheap lilo and carefully slit between centre air tubes until you get something like a 'gentlmans saddle' arrangement.
Might also need an insulated sleeve as when transferred to a proper insulated matt you just cut a big hole in it. :???:
Might also need some gaffa tape to hold it all together.
Marketing opportunity there just need a prototype.

Be creative with a poo trowel.
Excavate a trench for your arm to rest in under your matt.

Where would we be without innovative design?

or buy a Klymit skeletonal thingy. [Inertia X Frame https://klymit.com/products/inertia-x-f ... eeping-pad, only then realising its too delicate and expensive[now down to $70] to use outside and reside to using your bed instead and reacquaint yourself with how comfy it is :-bd
Sea2Summat (a tykeshire in joke), do a dual (independant) layer (Dual-coretm) inflatable pad. May that would give insulation, support & a softer sleep layer...edit(Comfort Plusor Comfort Light ranges) https://www.seatosummit.co.uk/products/ ... light-mat/

Dracula/waking dead - coincidence?
