I'm not 100% happy with the final outcome but I think there's some mileage in it
Take one Chinese carbon handlebar extender jobby off ebay

Dismantle, measure the carbon pole and cut in half

Cut majority of small ring away, leaving a wonky nut of sorts

Smooth off the cut ends

With a bit of luck the carbon pole should slide on nice and snug, with a tight fit at the wider clamp

The cheap clamps are a bit crap, I might try another wrap of tape or line the clamp with something else. The wonky nut could be replaced with a bit of half round timber, or sugru etc.
Thought I'd have a go for a laugh, i was never going to use the bar extender as it was

This looks like an accident waiting to happen.

Re: Inner loop bar end thingies
Nice work. I have the same bar and have been considering something similar. I mentioned on another thread that one option I was thinking about was cutting a section out of the middle of the loop so I could put any old bar end on.
Re: Inner loop bar end thingies
Are these 'carbon' handlebar extenders not just actually plastic with a carbon fibre pattern printed on them?
Re: Inner loop bar end thingies
The one I picked up is definitely carbon, I think it's fairly cheap to produce in the far east these days
