Thumbs up to Thermarest

I sent my old (8 years) and rather battered thermarest Neoair back to Cascade Designs in Ireland a couple of weeks back. It had developed an unsightly “bulge” where the baffles had come unstuck. I thought I’d be cheeky and send it back to the Warranty department, expecting a knock back or at best maybe a reduced price replacement.

I got a free replacement in the post last week :-bd . They will certainly get my custom in future.

Only if they stop replacing it for free at some stage....

I've found their customer service to be absolutely top notch

Same here. I had an original green neoair replaced for free last year-again I wasn’t really expecting that when I sent it in. The replacement developed a small leak that I couldn’t find so I sent it in for repair and they replaced that as well! Fantastic service and well worth the upfront cost for that backing.

Very true. Makes me think of my Hope LED light, it's like Trigger's broom.

My wife and I have had an embarrassing amount of Prolite pads replaced by Cascade after they delaminated - something like 5 between us.

Sounds good, I’ve just sent my exped mat off and will be sending my thermarest off ( uberlight) shortly due to an ever increasing leak. It will interesting to see who has the best service, currently I have no functioning mats.

I was just about to press the button on a Thermarest Uberlite, but having read some reviews there seems to be a very high failure rate. Not sure what to do now :???:

I think you get to point of thiness/lightness where its just not reliable enough
For me my sleeping system is essential as a night on the ground is going to be horrible for me comfort wise in summer and very cold the rest of the year .
Also read rather mixed reviews and its only 100g saving ish - better water management would save me more
