The first two weeks are the worst, it feels like hell on toast but then after that it's only really, really, hard work. :-bd

I really like it though (but only off-road, road running is the devils work and really bad for my joints/back).

Running is great. My Missus started the Couch to 5k thing a couple of years ago and persuaded me to join her. Me that hasn't even run for a bus in 30 years. The first run I did 5km and couldn't work out what all the fuss was about. After 3km or so it just gets easier and more enjoyable. I did the Fort William marathon last summer. Hard, but didn't die

I'll be doing a lot more running this year as there are some events I fancy.

I think we need more positivity here!

I'm trying to resist my son's demands for ice cream as a big boy little boys night in treat :|

Ugh, running, you can keep it.

Also, the new Ben & Jerry's light ice cream is much, much better than most of the others I've tried.

Have managed to hit my calorie targets for the last week (and no alcohol), but nothing really changing as yet. Hope I don't have to go much lower as it's going to be hard to maintain.

I'm still sick though, so who knows what's going on with my body.

Sorry I'm late!

70.6kg /11st 1.5lb/ 155.5lb

I'd be happy to get somewhere near 64kg by my daughter's wedding in April.

Finally started to feel a bit better. Did first bit of exercise last night and correspondingly, dropped a bit of weight today. Good stuff. :-bd

Well, first weigh in of the year, i seem to be the only person that attempted Festive 500 (and got 268 of the 311 miles in) and gained weight!!

So starting weight for me for the year is 16 stone 6ibs. So first target is sub 16 stone, and then as close to 15st as possible, having played rugby for 20 years, i am "skinny" when i am 15 stone 5 or thereabouts.

Regime of two long rides outdoors, two turbo sessions indoors and leg/core weights once or twice a week for me, plus attempting "dry January" but more to annoy my wife, who said i'd never do it!

I gained weight when I did it in 2017. My reward for each ride was half a Christmas cake and a bunch of rum...

Whilst I've got no problem with folk meddling with the inanities of the imperial system in the comfort of their own home I've asked, for the sake of ease (and seeing as it's the 21st century), that all weigh-ins are in kgs please :-bd

By all means do both and I've converted it for this one but I ain't got time to be doing it all the time.

Cheers dude and bad luck for riding so much and shifting no weight - there really is no fairness in this world!

Here we go again.
08.01.19 - 86.7kg (nice bit of stuffing face at Xmas bloating).

Afternoon all,

I trust that everybody has had a very well behaved week?

Weigh-in on the morrow so nowhere to hide :???:

I'm quietly optimistic of seeing a friendly number on my scales as I've managed 3 runs and 6 days of good behaviour since last week (had a calorifoc wobble yesterday - shitty day induced bottle of red and some light chocolate consumption  )

Good luck everyone, see you on the other side.....

The problem with a Friday morning weigh-in is that it immediately follows a Thursday evening bike ride (with associated beer intake, crisps and nuts platter and the inevitable munchies when I get home)

Ordinarily it'll be the same for me too but during the winter the Thursday evening bike ride only usually has one taker (me!) and so it all but disappears until spring.

Not expecting anything of note here, still getting over Xmas flu and on my exercise ban  Good news is I've ditched the statins and betablockers due to side effects, so at least my BMR might be back to normal-ish

I think I've done pretty well, but I'll need to tweak it over the next few weeks or I'll end up with no energy to train.

01-01-2019 - 115.7kg
04-01-2019 - 114.5kg
11-01-2019 - 113.9kg

Not as much as I'd dates to dream but it'll do.

Keeping on top of the factors that lead to failure so hoping to see some prolonged loss - let's see if I can maintain my good behaviour.....

Everyone else?

01.01.09 - 98.2kg
04.01.09 - 98.1kg.
11.01.09 - 99.0kg ....

Bugger. No surprise though. That's what happens when you sit at a desk 10 hours a day and eat too much for dinner, so no excuses. I've been good at breakfast and lunchtime, and not snacking either. It's been getting home when I get on the fang. Might consider taking the dog for an evening walk rather than flopping on the sofa and eating biscuits. And I have a healthy exercise laden weekend coming up, and will refocus energies on fruit, veg and lean proteins.

102.5, kilo off  happy with that considering working away. A lack of proper exercise due to a strained muscle in my hip flexors area has knocked me back a bit (getting old  ) Hopefully try a CV session at the gym tonight to test it out.

Morning

102.8kg

A little over half a kilo up. Not surprising really as I am sick as a dog and doing zero exercise and ery little movement whilst eating my body weight in toast
I'll try to minimize the damage and catch up soon.

01/01 - 75.7kg :( want to get down to 70 before entering my 6th decade in July
04/01 - 75kg (-0.7)
11/01 - 74.6kg (-0.4)

I suppose it's a slow creep in the right direction

108.5kg :-bd 238.8lb and -1.2lb

Considering current state of health and lack of activity I'm happy with that :-bd
If I lost just 1 pound a week for the year I'd hit my goal. How hard can that be?
