I wondered that - they look like photos from the 1930s that have been recolourised.

Are they photos from the 1930s that have been recolourised?

They're lovely anyway. Where was the last one taken?

Looks like the photos have just had a fair bit of HDR processing applied to them.

Great photos RD.... loved the outer loop and particularly the Abernethy Forest section - bet that looked spectacular with all the bilberries and start of autumn colours :-bd
Must get back up for a social pottle round the OL without the mega IL hike-a-bike.

Nice ride. I enjoyed reading / seeing that.

Cant remember where I got the route, maybe woodcock or something but the outer loop more or less and the woodcock c2c is where it all started for me. I think the first time I tried the cairngorm it was january.....

You're pics remind me why we like to get out there.

PS. I know where 8 out of the 10 photos are, just the close up of the camp and the guy riding around the corner foot out that I don't know. #gottaputinthehours :geek:

The camping spot looks to be somewhere in Rothiemurchus (assuming the photos are in chronological order). Possibly by the old ford upstream from the Cairngorm Club footbridge.

Yep that's what I was thinking too about the camping spot. There is a place in Rothiemurchus that springs to mind.

Cheers for all the nice comments, I hadn't checked the thread for a while.

The camp spot picture is at the head of loch Insh, just along from the Watersports centre (on the beach below the road). It's slightly off route but handy for the pub in Kincraig :D

Hi Mike,

It's HDR (high dynamic range) software called photomatix.
