Here for two weeks - doing the normal climbing thing but also took the trailer to get some rides in on the gravel/sand roads that litter this place.

Baby was not best pleased with todays route choice. Quite a lot of this.

I was there 3 days ago.
It is fun riding hard dirt trails then turning a corner and then trying to ride through sand for 200m, then back to dirt.

Haha I know that face , my daughter had the same look off and on for the last 22 years(permanently from 12 to 18)

Where are you based?

Cul de Chien.
Huge sand pit area for the adults to play in and some great boulders for the kids.

Mare aux Evées.
North end. Nothing major but a nice place to search out.

Café in forest.
1km east of Barbizon.

Point de vue des Gorges d'Apremont.
A small ridge but I like it. I intend to bivi there one night. A short HAB up 50m. 1km SW of café.

Fontainbleau Chateau gardens. Free entry.

A day trip by train to Paris.
Vieux Camper. Rude café service. Peeing in public.

The 3 Chateaux west of Barbizon.
Courances. Closed to public but very quiet and nice country roads.

The best thing about the forest is finding a nice old oak tree and having a picnic and snooze. And the bouldering.

Ahh, no problem, the ONF route maps are useless, have the local IGN map, we're down in Larchant.

I think this is my 10th trip in 20 years to here - first with a bike - done a lot of climbing here. We've been climbing at Elephant most days so far as it's a 1km walk in from the Gite.

Did a 40km loop today, longest for the baby (16 months old) in the trailer - she was ace.

Also, chalk is tasty apparently. Makes a good dipping sauce for rice cakes.
