French IGN maps
Hi all, I am slowly putting together a 2-3 day bivvy trip over to Brittany using a mix of gravel roads and tarmac, I see France has their version of OS maps, IGN. Does anyone have any experience using them with regards to detail and quality?

Re: French IGN maps
I've always found them okay. Not OS but perfectly serviceable.

Re: French IGN maps
As with Stu, they are ok. Contours can be a bit confusing.
Re: French IGN maps
Pretty much agree with those two.
Re: French IGN maps
Cheers all, I had heard mixed views on them, pretty excited about the trip already.

Re: French IGN maps
Google Tro Bro Leon and try to find the route (strava?). It’s a French professional road race that takes in a lot of gravel in that area. May be worth a punt?
Re: French IGN maps
In case you didn't see, those maps are online at https://geoportail.gouv.fr
I personnaly select the three "Carte IGN" "Cartes IGN classiques" and "Photographies aériennes" in the upper left "Cartes" menu, then I change between then in the right menu where you see a layer icon.
