I like the idea of this but it looks like the timing isn't going to work out for me.

Keep it going though.... maybe next year.

Bearbonesnorm wrote:Okay, shall we say the weekend of Sat July 7th?

If we go for the same format as last year, that'll mean a Fri night meet up late on - maybe in a pub perhaps? A ride through the night aiming for a dawn arrival at the coast followed by a return on Sat with Sat night out in the hills. Yes? No?
Yes! I could be up for that! :-bd

Just out of curiosity, what is the teddy bear bones? Would love an excuse to force the little girl out for a cycle and wild camp.

TBB has had to go a bit underground this year as we are restricted on numbers where we've booked. It has also moved dates and location to coincide with Scottish school holidays to allow participation from those north of the border.

It is a bit of a logistical nightmare but worth it for the cheese, wine and midges

There’s a chance I could be up for this, kinda enjoy night riding :-bd I’ve noticed the calendar appears empty on that weekend so have employed Mrs D’s special pen which grants dibs over weekends :???:

Grand ,the freedom pass has been signed sealed and delivered although together with my other passes this year it's cost me a trip to Brisbane for herself to see her cousins (this is why I can't make the bb200 as I'm looking after master Fionn ,teenagers can't be trusted to leave the house in one piece too many flash backs when I think about my youth) :-bd

Nothing exciting. Blew my left ankle out racing XWA. 2 weeks later it's usable but still a 1-2 on the ouch scale. 28th sounds good. I should be properly mobile by then.

Okay then ... a colaboration between Mike 'The bikepacking superstar' and me, 'The bikepacking antichrist' has resulted in a plan of sorts taking shape but we could do with a show of hands if possible.

To help you decide before raising a paw, here's a few more details.

Likely start / finish - Bala on Fri night.
Destination - seaside. Ice cream, fish 'n chips, kiss me quick donkey, etc
Distance - about 130k in total. Around 55 on Fri night and the remainder on Sat / Sun.
Terrain - a varied mix with something for everyone.
Can I take a gravel bike? - if you like, you'll not die.
You will need decent or at least reasonable lights.
A night out somewhere nice and remote on Sat and you can expect to get back to the start late morning on Sun.

Who's coming?
