Bivvy a month badges ... soon come.
Highly anticipated by at least 3 people, the Bivvy a month patches are very nearly upon us. They will be available to anyone completing or having completed BaM in accordance with the guidelines set out on the BaM thread. I'm afraid that the Bear Bones coffers don't stretch to giving them away freely but ...
1/ They won't be expensive - just cost covering.
2/ Can be posted to a door of your choosing.
3/ Can be sewn directly to many surfaces.
4/ They're bullet proof*
*Should you get shot and injured while wearing one, we will happily refund the purchase price.

I've was thinking about the 'incentive' only the other day, not that it was the only reason I managed to complete 2017 but it helped. I didn't like to ask what had happened to it as it seems a bit rude considering all the other things you do for us
Really like these though, my purchasing fingers are poised over the keyboard ready

Ooh, goody! Everyone likes a badge and they look dead good thanks Stuart . Last one I got was for 25-yards swimming.

A patch, you say? Well bugger it...that's good incentive to go with my BB200 and TNR patches.
Jan. through Dec. yes? If so, #1 was the Winter Event for me. If not, #3 was Jan. with a few nights in Nov./Dec. spent on Brown Clee, Long Mynd and a stellar evening out in the middle of Wales post snow-push.

I'm not the policeman here but note for integrity purposes they are for LAST year's 12 nights Jan-Dec, not upcoming 2018 . Gotta earn 'em with blood, sweat, tears, mud, tussocks, mud, rain, mud first .

Reg, did you keep a check on how many completed 2017? In a non-policing way of course. Just wondered how elite a club the BAM completers currently is

Vaguely yes Sean, cos I also wondered how "elite" the sufferers were. Or is that e-Lite? Maybe some of those could be the prizes next time. I don't feel at all elite personally, just damp . Think it was certainly only a little way into double figures, so Stuart could probably just have drawn some badges by hand in the time it takes for him to order these nice ones .

Re: Bivvy a month badges ... soon come.
Nope, they are for both Reg - just that some folk are already in a position to obtain one, while others are on their journey towards bikepacking superstardom as we speak ... it simply wouldn't have being financially sound to get them made unless we use them on a rolling basis.I'm not the policeman here but note for integrity purposes they are for LAST year's 12 nights Jan-Dec, not upcoming 2018
It says this up there ^ but perhaps it doesn't make things clear?

Re: Bivvy a month badges ... soon come.
Ah right ta, good point, yeah it'd be a bit uncosteffective to have different ones every year. Once one had earned the badge above for a first year, maybe we could have little "add on" ones, like officers stripes or summat, for subsequent years. Or maybe I'll just shut up and be pleased and appreciative that there's a nice badge at all .

Nothing to stop you adding your own, I suggest Field officer as top rack

Could be a viable option Reg.Once one had earned the badge above for a first year, maybe we could have little "add on" ones, like officers stripes or summat, for subsequent years.

Trouble with the stripes idea is that Taylor with his legendary long-service might not have sleeves long enough .

Re: Bivvy a month badges ... soon come.
Unfortunately by missing Jan, too busy at work, I killed my 2018 BAM and missed my 11th consecutive BAM as I started in March last year
Jan and Feb are my worst months at work...
Maybe another year, or another job

Re: Bivvy a month badges ... soon come.
Just seen this badge. I love a good badge and got 2017 and 2018 R%$ha500 badges for doing 500km in final weeks of December...
Anyways. Erm... I'm a bit late noticing this (and I'm sorry) but would be up for trying if my non-completion of Jans BiviAmonth could possibly be overlooked

I don't think I have completed a full year since the inaugural 2012 edition so will be claiming on that basis. I must try harder.
