Just scared myself.

While aimlessly playing on bikehike, I produced this - really not sure I want to ride it ... looks very spiky.

Just had a quick cross check. I've done all of that barring the bit from Llanuwchllyn towards CyB. Though amusingly I have done the entire of the climb that way (for a WRT waypoint)... then I turned around.

Why not go the whole hog and loop from the north end of Lake Bala over the Wayfarer to LlanarmanDC before dropping south through Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant and through the woods to the eastern end of Lake Vyrnwy to rejoin your route at the western end of the Lake (+ 66km, 1725m ascent!). You could then drop straight from Mallwyd to Llanbrynmair to reduce some mileage at the end
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.

I had considered that Peter but this is mainly on-road, so thought I'd save the Wayfarer for another day.

Which lumpy bits? I thought this contained most of those bits?

Devils staircase
Up from Clatter
Concrete ramp at Arthog
That flipping road out of Llanny

You can get a sticker for that ;)
We’re all individuals, except me.

I woke up this morning but I’m still in the dark

I remember scaring myself too when plotting a route this summer.

Was fun 'riding'. Super fun challenge. After day two I was more wasted than after finishing the HT550 and it went on for 4 more days. Yet I wasn't capable of finishing it.

That leaves me thinking - again - that it's a good thing to do stuff that scare you. Life is more fun this way.
