There was no coal left and what wood there was was pretty damp but I found a couple of boy scouts to rub together and before long we had a reasonable fire.
I vote for a meet up in Kielder at some point this year to allow a bit of cross border action. I'll post up dates in the '19 bam thread, all welcome

The bothy book indicated a few visits between yours and ours so I doubt you put us at any disadvantage. There wasn't much dry wood at Kershopehead either.
Currently not stopped at Wainhope, Roughside or Green. Don't know how big the other two are but we stopped by Green and it's massive with three rooms plus a wood store.

Roughside is a 2 story house with plenty of room. Bit of a boggy trail to get there and appears to suffer from sporadic visits by bawbags, given the various signs around the area. Haughtongreen is another nice one, but quite small.

I could well be up for that if I can drag myself in to the land of the sociable for a change though currently really unfit following about a month of vertigo that finally seems to have gone.I vote for a meet up in Kielder at some point this year to allow a bit of cross border action. Gonna head down to Newcastleton on Saturday actually all being well. Have the last week in March off for a 300 mile adventure down there
Green is a very nice bothy, good size, even had some phone signal there.
Not tried Wainhope though need to try and get there before the end of March this year when it closes for the summer.

9/9 in September with adult company for a change! A short ride out from Dinnet to a hilltop bivy on Cnoc Dubh, which is a lovely spot with views of Loch Kinord one way and Lochnagar the other.

BAM July 6/6 Completed – I started in February
Part of a bigger trip through the empty quarter of Mid Wales from Neath to Mach (and back)
Will write that up sometime, in the meantime spent Friday night just above Trap in the bivvy bag. A brilliant clear night after ham and boiled potatoes in the pub below. Enough of a breeze to be midge free !
