So every December we have Global Fat bike day and this year a few of us decided to camp before the big day. It was on Newborough beach and we found a cracking spot with a great view and was nice and warm once we got the fire going and a few drinks helped as well. After a ok(ish) nights sleep we all got up packed making sure we left nothing behind and headed back to the car park to meet some other less brave souls and had a cracking day on the steeds. Yeah, I know I sound like the 'fun police' but I feel a kind of duty to say something even if that results in me wearing a 'miserable b'stard' badge all week. Newborough woods with a bonfire, WTF could possibly go wrong?

Well we covered the ash but there was one slightly black stone but I forgot my paint Remember cave men had fire and through out history it was contained and since it had rained the ground was pretty wet.... Risk of forest fire staring was slim to say the least but I understand your worries and hope I have put them at ease.

Don't worry, there was no risk of the forest burning down in a raging inferno. The fire is were there's been one many times before so its not a 'new' burnt patch. The area is sandy also.
And I just love flamed grilled lamb steak, better than them hydrated meals!!
