Hopefully heading to Vietnam in the New Year as a long overdue Honeymoon.
Plan on doing a backpacking style trip so after a very lightweight dossbag.
Can anything beat a Cumulus 150 quilt for packsize/ quality?

Probably not if you take cost into account too. Phd make a lighter bag but for a hot climate quilts are ace. Also the Phd option will be 3x the price!

Big fan of my Cumulus 150 quilt. Quilts are good when you may encounter a much warmer night than the minimum temp rating of the bag

IMO very little to beat the 150. It's a quality item featuring proper baffles rather than stitch-through construction. I've pushed mine well below the stated temp figures with no great drama.

If my experience of tropical countries is anything to go by then you'll be fine with a silk sheet and that would mostly be for modesty. A bit of searching suggests that in the mountains in the north the temperatures can get down to 10C so the Cumulus 150 would be fine with that.

Backpacking as in travel and hostels or tramping and tents?

I took a 1 and 2/3 season sleeping bag and liner with me in the van. Probably spent more warm nights in the liner alone and only really used the 1 season bag inside the other as we got close to winter and it dropped below freezing.

Perfect, cheers all, I’ve a 250 already, so will get the 150.
Then I could combine them both fir a winter(ish) one for over here..


Now will need to get rid of the Laminate Zero.
