Norco Search
Purdy - but with a long top tube that is quite modern.

I do like that there are so many options now.

Re: Norco Search
I got one of those but not the carbon version.
Re: Norco Search

Often wondered but never bothered asking - whats the deal with the kinked driveside rear chainstays that have started popping up? benefits?

I'm amused that no one has commented on the dropper on the RHS image :)
I have been playing with one on my Cotic Escapade for a while, makes things quite entertaining! Or sketchy at high speeds.

Droppers are quite common? No?GregMay wrote:I'm amused that no one has commented on the dropper on the RHS image :)

Whyte rolled out their gravel bike with a dropper and for a long time, I thought Pro-peloton domestics should use them (in case of a bike change with the leader and the car can't access them)

And also because you can get more areo with the seat slammed and not do that crazy crouching-on-the-crossbar-wobbly-tastic thingvoodoo_simon wrote:Droppers are quite common? No?GregMay wrote:I'm amused that no one has commented on the dropper on the RHS image :)

I saw someone doing that yesterday Not even on a very long hill either.ianfitz wrote:And also because you can get more areo with the seat slammed and not do that crazy crouching-on-the-crossbar-wobbly-tastic thingvoodoo_simon wrote:Droppers are quite common? Re: Norco Search
I like the look of this. Btw that's not a dropper. I saw the marketing guff the other day, it's a waterproof sealing thing, like a gator to stop the frame flooding if it ends up getting dropped in the drink. It's got a stupid name.
Edit. Das Boot!!! http://www.bikepacking.com/news/norco-search-xr/

Oh, sorry. I'm on a phone so can't zoom in. I know when I first saw the marketing images I mistook the 'Das Boot' for a dropper setup.Bearbonesnorm wrote:Yes it is ... look closely at the seatpost on the ghosted image.Btw that's not a dropper.

Discussing pricing elsewhere I do think they're doing quite well too in this regard. But apparently they'll go up due to SRAM upping their prices for 2018 (at least for Switzerland).

Re: Norco Search
They do a steel framed version which looks pretty smart too.
Re: Norco Search
Would a quick release seat clamp not work just as well?I thought Pro-peloton domestics should use them (in case of a bike change with the leader and the car can't access them)
Re: Norco Search
I think they introduced them so they could literally just jump on a bike and adjust in motion.boxelder wrote:Would a quick release seat clamp not work just as well?I thought Pro-peloton domestics should use them (in case of a bike change with the leader and the car can't access them)
While I can imagine you could withe a QR seat clamp, I wouldn't like to actually do it :)
