Hi all.

Could anyone suggest some frames that could fit the following criteria as I'm struggling to find any/many?

Fits both 29+ and 29 inch tyres.
Is not boost.
Comes in xl sizes (I like large bikes with long reach and I'm 186cm with long legs)
And is preferably less than £500 for a frame and fork.

MK3 Stooge due into the country soon. Comes in a 20" version now. Slightly over budget @ £550 but very nice ... sorry forget that, it won't fit a 29+ out back.

I think 29+ but not Boost may be tricky (limited chain/tyre clearance).

I realise the clearance could be an issue on the rear, I'm happy running 1 by drive chains and would probably settle for some thing that has clearance for large 2.4/maxxis 2.5 rear.
Just trying to see if anyone knows of any out there that would fit up to 3.

Can you get a pinnacle Ramin frameset? Should be cheap if you can.
Otherwise look out for a secondhand ECR or Kramp plus I think Stooge is about to do a steel 29* frameset

How much plus?
Can be tricky to find out, but some 29er frames with sliding drop out will also take proper 2.6" tyres on up to 35 mm internal rims.

My old KHS Solo SE does.
Perhaps a Kona Unit too..?

As much as I love my ecr it's most definitely 29+ only, if buying a frame now I would look at 27.5+ frames, most of which can run 29"wheels they give you access to a much larger tyre and rim choice.

Singular Swift fits the Fat b nimble tyre, its not a true 3 inch tyre though, prolly 2.7

Singular Rooster the best bet. EBB can be adjusted to suit wheel size. XLs pop up second hand. Seen a couple in last month. Maybe one of the Vassago frames might work. Stanton are selling two Sherpa Plus frames (production ready prototypes) in 19 & 21 but they will be boost.

Next 29 plus frame i buy will be boost for ease of running 2 x gear set ups. Cheers Andy

Stooge speedballs are nearly £900 for frame and fork.

I've got a rooster but recently took the 3" tyre off the back for a 2.3" purgatory. The chain can rub on the tyre with a double and 3" tyre.

I like the look of the new Krampus but not sure if it meets your spec.

I'd go with a Swift too.

Same for all non boost plus frames. Easy fix with a boost or Surly OD chainset. Can also tweak the ebb outboard a couple of mm to help. Swift doesnt take 29 plus in rear.

Think it will take B+ up to 2.8 in the rear (I believe, although I have not tested on mine)

Not an original idea but Surly Krampus would work.
The older green version has old standard hub spacing, is designed for 29+, can be bought on eBay for a couple of hundred quid, comes in an XL size and will run ok with standard 29er wheels.
