Martin Lewis says it best...

"If you were going to buy it anyway, and it's half price, you've saved 50%. If you weren't going to buy it, but do it because its half price, it's cost you 100%"

Indeed! Our spacious 2-person Big Agnes Copper Spur is just 1.5kg including a footprint. I can sit up without hitting my head on the roof in it, no way I could do that in that bivy.

3 man Sierra designs is 1.5 kg and two entrances and sit up in it

It' was not £60 and a helium bivvy is about £200 ish ( but 500 grammes ish)

Decent price for starter kit IMHO

Nice (and unusual) thing about the OEX bivvy, is it has a proper foot-end vent. :-bd

In amongst the black Friday hoohaa, BAM have 25% off everything til tomorrow. Seems to work on stuff that's already on sale too. I had a tab open from weeks ago with some boxers which were already on sale, and rendered slightly less eye-wateringly expensive by a further discount.

Has anyone seen any offers or discount codes for Ordnance Survey online maps? My subscription is nearly up for renewal...

Had an email saying the following. Looks like they’ve listened to loyal customers who didn’t get any benefit of auto renew

Hmm. Mines up in May - given how crap it is (the app that is) I'll not be renewing if they screw me £35. Not to sure about £29 either....

Memory map works well for me* and you can do a lifetime subscription( hills and paths don't change much but on road some new housing estates appear over a decade or so) When deals are on under £50 for 1:50 or under £100for 1:25

* can download whole UK to your phone easily enough

Are the gift cards any good for what you want? They’re £25..

https://shop.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/os-ma ... gift-card/

I picked up a renewal recently at the Kendal Mountain Fest, can’t remember if it was £20 or £25. Could be worth looking out for any pop-ups they might have..

Water resistant
I spotted that, yet it also says 15,000HH which is more than waterproof. Dunno.

Is it fully taped?

Also spotted conflicting info hence saying." Waterproof".
Unlikely the seams are taped but now we know how you define waterproof and I now longer own any

One of the reviewers said this about it
Great jacket for colder days, wouldn't wear this if it was warmer than 7C though. Good at catching the mud, fairly waterproof to start with but if it's actually raining take a waterproof instead.
I'm 6'1" skinny and sent the Large back as the body was too baggy. The Med has the same length sleeves and length in the back as far as I could tell and I am much happier in that, in fact it's perfect. I have a neutral ape index so span is the same as height and the fit is good. Nice casual jacket as well.
Great value in the sale, not at RRP.
So might be worth a shot if it's more for cold weather riding and some drizzle. I remember Stu once mentioning that proper waterproofing starts at about 20,000HH hence that's what I always aim for.

For £30 though, IME Nukeproof gear is always really really well made.

I love it when people give an exact temperature limit for using a piece of clothing, as if wind, humidity, precipitation, activity, layers, massive variations in build and metabolism, etc. don;t come into it.
