I booked a spot at the lower Wray campsite because I wasn't sure if the overnighter from the station was suitable for a mostly clueless slow novice.

It'll be the similar to the winter bivi.

If you can ride offroad in the Lakes and have a couple of nights bivi experience you'll be fine.
Pace will be sociable, but dont expect me to be bringing you breakfast in bed

I believe we may be having a 'family outing', so possibly, yes.

Double Really???!!??

I presumed, wrongly it would seem, that you could camp/bivi in the grounds of Brathy Lodge!!

So the £20 is just for the event and you have camp/park elsewhere. That's a bit naff.

From the website;

Overnight accommodation is not included in the ticket price. There is no shortage of accommodation options in the area and onsite accommodation is available through Brathay, see https://www.brathay.org.uk/brathay-hall ... athay-hall or ring 0844 225 3100. They will be offering the following discounted accommodation to attendees:

• Lodges (sleep 2) B&B, £100 per night,
• Single rooms B&B, £50 per night
• Hostel beds B&B, £30 per night
• Self-catering options for groups of 10 or more (ring for price)

There is camping in the grounds of the venue as far as I know and is in the price of the ticket. I,m riding out of Staveley on Friday night to a bivi spot which is a stunning spot, breakfast in Ambleside and then ride to the gig on late Saturday morning.
Msg me if you fancy a ride out a few beers In Hawkshead Brewery in Staveley to start the ride :-)

TBC - but looking like both Friday and Saturday for the TD - also doing a shorter one about training and nutrition.

I suspect I'll be quite tired :)

Just in case anyone cares, I believe I'm running a 'shelter workshop' on both Sat and Sun afternoon. I will do my very best to supply help to the hopeless and hope to the helpless ... so if you're either of those, come along, I'm not 'that' grumpy in real life.

My understanding is - no, not really.

'Doors open' on Fri but aside from maybe having a pint and chatting, I don't think there's actually anything happening on site ... less confused?

Actually ..... maybe there is something taking place on Fri afternoon. The website says Fri 3pm, afternoon workshops and presentations. No mention of what they are though. I'm sure all will become clear at some point in time.

I'm keen and will likely be in..... keen to meet up with some folks off here and have a fondle of/go in some packrafts too.

Below, this might be an option for accommodation at £9 per night pp. I'm a member of the Lancs Climbing and Caving Club and could book it for the weekend (it's currently available that week). A ride down Walna Scar and then Coniston/Hawkshead Hill and into Brathay should be quick (about 15km)

That's not Tarn Foot campsite is it Tony? If I put Loughrigg farm campsite into the magic that is Google, that's the one that seems to come up.

Fancy joining me on an easy laid back ride on quiet roads to pub for food, with one off road climb to this bivi spot?

And just 14 miles in total.
Looks rubbish !
How easy is easy ?
