Just realised that I have the Norton's Xmas lunch on the Saturday. So best to meet at 3pm at the Fox House pub (GR - SK 266802) plenty of parking there. Probably dangerous to start the ride in a pub but hey ho...

I was hoping there'd be a station near the start. :-)

Hathersage or Grindleford is your best bet for a train.

We can swing by grindleford station, or will be at the Peacock Inn at Owler bar first, thats a 20 minute ride from Dore and Totley Station (theres loads of free parking there too if people want to go from there as an alt start)

Might be in for this. Driving back from Nottingham to Manchester on the 17th so could quite easily chuck the bike and kit in the car and come join you at the Fox House..

How far (or how long time wise) do people want to ride for? Thinking of heading over to Edale, eat and beers at the Ramblers then bivy close to Hope Cross. There's also the option of a rainy route via bakewell and then utilising the handy ledges in the monsal tunnel, nice and close to the Stables bar at the Monsal Head hotel...

Sound OK?

As it's a jolly, I'd have thought 20-30 miles each way wouldn't be too ridiculous. That said, I have to keep up with Large for 30 miles...I'll be a shadow of my former self when we get to the pub! :)

Looking forward to some new trails/pubs/ales.

Scott, it's a social ride, and if you get the first round in There'll be no racing to get there first!

I remember my last social ride watching you disappear up a hill in front of me into the storm. :)
That all said, I'm in no hurry...except to get that first round in!

Ok, so my plan for next weekend is to get to the Fox House pub around 10'ish on Saturday AM, then I have a 35km route down towards Chatsworth and Bakewell (some of the Peak200 in reverse), then heading up through GT longstone and Stoney Middleton and then road work past Grindleford station and back to Fox House to meet IanFitz and anyone else coming.
No idea how long it will take, but probably 3-4 hours.

Anyone is welcome to join me, it will be leisurely.

If anyone needs picking up from anywhere let me know (by "picking up" , I mean I can ride to them and ride with them, unless they are at a station before 10 or around 2-3, in which case I could pick them up in the van).

Thinking of either the ramblers at edale or the ladybower inn. Will try and post on here if we have a clue and some sort of agreement
