Ta, you'd've enjoyed this WRT I reckon. Didn't manage to fit in a visit to the Dyfi Valley Hotel though - let us know if it's on your bucket list
. However we did find an excellent Spot not 2 minutes from there so you could imbibe as much as you liked and still sleep well

Some of the best memories of my life were forged around that time, and all for the price of a bike.
A truly genius quote from bikepacking's philosophical titan
.
In a similar vein to this...
"Give a man a fish and feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and feed him for a lifetime. Teach a man to cycle and he will realize fishing is stupid and boring” – Desmond Tutu.

Cheers Pete. I think your quote tops mine

Just looking at the ancient photos again got me very emotional - but: all very well saying they were the best times of my life, but I quickly realised those recent WRT photos were the best times of my life
as well! Thank you Stu, priceless, totally priceless. Yacht, mansion, limo - inconsequential trinkets. In fact my sig is honed just-right now and will be etched upon the monument (*).
(*) not that I'm in any rush, mind.
