I can get that effect on a bright day with the camera on my phone.
Possibly, but I suspect it won't look as decent after processing and then printed to A3 size on my wall... and you probably won't be able to get much data from the image either.

A bit off topic, but any recommendations for a compact camera?

Mainly Landscapes.
Something that will take a reasonable amount of abuse, has some control over exposure/aperture and reasonably small

Finding a compact where you can control the "exposure/aperture" will be hard unless you have deep pockets, then when you spend that sort of money you wonts want to risk the "reasonable amount of abuse"

I use my Sony cyber shot WX220 but it doesn't have those controls

If I had the money and a load of bubble wrap to carry it in I would buy one of these http://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/cyber ... sc-rx100m4

Edit - Sony RX100 - you really don't need to look much further.

I'll second that.

The Fuji XT-1 is a lovely bit of kit I've been exclusively using one since January when I traded in my Nikon body. Only go a couple of Nikon bits left now, once they're gone I'll be purely on the Fuji setup. Cannot recommend the X-T1 enough.

Continuing through images from my tour over the summer today. This one just qualifies within a month

This one was taken defending the switchbacks on Flexenpass in Austria. It's a 1777m pass with an incredible descent. It took a lot of willpower to stop and take these pictures rather than just throwing the bike in even harder!

Nope, needs to be a little cooler yet! Plus quite a lot of it was being blown back over the top.

I'll holler if I hear it is though as if like to do it too and never have. :-bd

I had a rather small and unexpected window to shoot rather good sky last week. The clouds in the shot will give you an idea of just how small a window it was, but here's my latest:

I've not seen one of these in the garden, or anywhere else, for a few years. I'm really pleased. It's a common lizard, little chap is about 2 inches long
