In case anyone else is interested I emailed them to ask about these -

"The first batch went on late last night and I'm afraid all 5 sold out, we were REALLY shocked at how quickly (we're talking minutes). There will be more in the next week or so, sorry you missed out this time."

It's a bit of a shame as it looks like they are going to be so popular that if you want one you'll have to play frame bag lottery every few weeks.

So anyone tried a Medium Revelate Tangle on a 16" Inbred?

Why is there all that talk of bulging? Can't remember that on any other frame bag website.

Nice though that it is UK made rather than looking like something from alibaba.com
great ordering system, rather than order and be notified, wait and watch for a window!

I think if you're wanting a basic, triangular bag they're fine. If I was wanting the divider and map pocket though, I'd buy a Wildcat one instead...the Alpkit doesn't seem to have some of the same finishing touches and doesn't allow any other custom options. I don't think it even has the option of a hole for a hydration hose/battery cable.

It seems strange to me that they've gone for custom frame bags as a product, rather than seatpacks or fueltanks which could be churned out in 1 or 2 designs much more economically...

There is talk of 'bulging' because there are so few straps

Good price though.

I presume/hope side panels are 1000d not the 100d as listed.

I don't think the lack of straps will cause a bag to bulge any more than a one with lots of straps. Any container made of a flexible material will bulge when you pack stuff in it unless it is a sphere (it's just physics). The only way to reduce bulging would be some way of connecting the centre points with say a divider, two smaller spaces will bulge less than one big space. :geek:

Interesting, Revelate and Wildcat don't talk of bulging to my knowledge. My Cuben bag only bulges when crammed full, and I never considered building it at 40mm because It bulges to 60mm, something doesn't sound right.

So has anybody here actually got on the initial run?

Some extra production capacity came up and I just happened to be hitting refresh at that moment. :) I've ordered a divider version for my Scandal and will no doubt report back once it arrives. It's my first framebag so have nothing to compare with. But expect it to be decent enough, a good tradeoff between value/features like most Alpkit stuff.

FFS the ordering of these is balls, I looked at their site like a million times on the 9th from stupid early o'clock before I went to work and never say them come on sale then 'sold out'! now they decide to sell some more while I am driving home from work and walkinmg the dogs

I think I will just buy something else instead to cheer myself up and promise myself I am never looking at that page again
