From London micro(brew)adventure anyone....?

Afternoon folks,

We're heading back to blighty for a little holiday and I'm being sensible and pre-planning a little overnighter to keep me sane.

I'll be based on north London and so thinking nothing too much further afield than a short train journey out of town before starting riding

Afternoon start, ride for a while, pub dinner, 10-15 tiny pints of craft beer before finding somewhere to bivi for the night.

Anyone interested?

Likely to be on the 19th or 20th of April and will definitely be more of a gentle, social ride than anything epic.

I could be interested in this, but it would need to be a proper micro-adventure for me (5pm start, be back in the City for 9am), with a minimum of offroad as I've only got my folder with me in London. Mileage isn't an issue, but I'm on 28c tyres so anything worse than fire roads is difficult over any distance...

Depends on how my knee recovers I could join you, any time after 3pm. Back to the city very early for me but don't mind. I'm also based in the north
I've done some bits of the north part of the smoke ring until Dorking. Another easier option would be plotting a route following part of the national cycle routes.

Gairy, get a train out to Dorking and the Surrey hills are your oyster. Great pubs all over the place and one or two cracking spots for a bivy. Plough at Coldharbour, Stephan Langton at Friday Street (Leith Hill), King's Head and the Volunteer at Holmbury St Mary (Holmbury Hill) are favourites. Be happy to give you a tour next time you're in the area.

Charlie, thanks for the Sussex suggestions, seems a good option.

So.....

Tuesday evening, heading out of London village in any particular direction (to be decided by those attending and by me if it's a solo mission - I'm easy and flexible).

A night under the cloud/smog/stars.

Ideally visiting a nice pub or brewery on the way for supplies and eats.

No problems with on/off road, mileage, start/finish times etc... would rather have company and fun than achieve anything Strava-worthy.

Anyone managed to maintain interest in this thread long enough to be still up for this?

No worries, if no one else is up for it I think I might also give it a miss as my back's feeling more than a little tender after a weekend riding Welsh trail centres on a fully rigid bike (rattled to death - was technically possible and a lot of fun but by the end I was in a bad way!).

I'll try and be more organised next time we're in town.
