Woo hoo - some basic black pogies

I commuted home last night via some openish, greenish spaces (like Hampstead Heath in North London). It was a really nice pootle but it was seriously cold and pretty foggy. I actually had to stop and warm my hands part way through. Only problem is that was on my Arkose though so it had drop bars

One of those iHarbort batteries johnnystorm recommended for buffering/ charging stuff off the Dynamo when on the move.

Got some soldering to do now to make up a cable to connect it to the feed from the hub...

First impressions of the KTM pack ? I'm toying with the idea of using one with my AK airlok tapered

Initial impressions are quite good. Build and materials kind of reminds me of altura bags.

It's not lightweight @ 460g.

There's no rear light loop which would be handy.

I have an airlok taper too so I'll give that a go.

May try a get a photo of it fitted.

Here is the result of the many parts from the postie.

I've tried cross bikes before, a surly straggler (weighed more that my mountain bike) surly cross check (more of a tourish type bike really)

I'm giving it one last go (road riding once helped me to get reasonably fit after all).

This thing should work well on the roads and easy tracks.

External battery pack, HH lifa short sleeve base layer (I seem to have 8,000,000 long sleeved ones...) and some Tenn zip off waterproof trousers. Expect a dry heatwave now folks!

A bunch of sale stuff from PlanetX...crab claw and summer gloves, some Lizard Skin lined overshoes and a long sleeve jersey with Reg Mombassa art on it. I have a feeling the crab claws may not get a run until next year given the winter has been uber mild. Everything else will get used in short order.

Some Vee tyre 29" 'Rails' ... look a little like a Race King but with a more defined edge block. Not heavy, set up tubeless okay and £7.99 each. :-bd

A pair of Endura MT500 waterproof shorts - sufficiently cheaper than Gore Alp-X shorts to be worth a pop.

Mountain hardwear scrambler waterproof rucksack turned up from sportpursuit.

Looks pretty good and feels comfy. Quality looks good too although it certainly seems a lot greyer than the black photos on the website.
