Good to hear the event has pricked some interest.

Looking at the dates of the other events people are interested in it shouldn't clash.

As for a change i'm the guy on the other side of the clipboard I can't guarantee many (read none) cake stops but I can promise a stand out event that will test you but in a good way.

Thanks guys .. hold tight for updates coming before the end of the month and entry opening not long after.

That date suits. Looks like this will be the event to motivate me through winter.

What bike are people using for it?
Torn between my CX with 40c nanos or my XC 29er.

Have never ridden up that way off road before so unsure whether the extra comfort of the 29er will be a blessing over that sort of distance.

I did the Kielder 101 earlier this year which was a mixture of fire roads and trail centre style singletrack. A few did it on crossers so I think you'd be OK on the CX - the fire roads that we road were pretty solid with few loose sections.

Kielder has a biggish camp site with a few cabins that can be rented. There is a pub that does food a couple of minutes walk away. Also a small general store and a cafe at the castle.

There are also hotels, b&b's, lodges etc in the area.

I imagine most will stay on the campsite.

I've booked into the yha affiliated hostel at Byrness (30 mins away in the car). Have booked for the Friday and Saturday night.
Bit keen but putting some money down helps with the commitment!

No, but the date's been announced. Yha have a 90% refund cancellation policy so I thought I'd risk the £3.60. Feel free to call me a frivolous southerner.
