As with so much in life, standards aren't actually standards until everyone adopts them ... the fill-power of down is another good example.

However, most people tend to use mats made in the US, so we can directly compare a NeoAir Xtherm against a Nemo Zor or Exped Synmat against a Big Agness Clearview ... I can't understand why Multimat don't quote the same data as 80% of other sleeping mat manufacturers ... surely their mats would look brilliant in comparison :???:

Arghh, don't mention down! That was a nightmare to explain to customers :shock:

Guess multi mat should follow Rabs idea with down and just use the America system to get the higher rating

Working in science reveals nicely what a pain in the arse imperial units are. Just because some (possibly majority) use the wrong units I doesn't make them right... Why wrong? Because experts around the world agreed to define SI for very good reasons. See Fahrenheit for good measure... no wonder it's not a SI unit.
