Also spinning some of The Pogues, one of my favourite bands. Yesterday I saw Withered Hand and Darren Hayman do solo shows and a couple of tunes together in Camden Town, a nice afternoon.

An E.P. dedicated to the inspiration Geordie (Killing Joke,) gave the artist.

Miles away from my usual listening taste but clicked on this out of curiosity, knowing that there is some amazing stuff coming from Saharan Africa. It is perfect for some of my more sedate listening moods.

In fact I'm going to have to wash that rap "music" taste out of my mouth with something far more joyful and crazed for a Cheery Friday  Take it Doo Doo... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcmDhG0YhgI

Too raucous eh? OK, back to Africa... now here's a lady (of African descent) who puts her heart and soul into it.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RUOp6Qjn9U

Never Mind The Baubles!

Fascinating. Especially from 37:00 onwards. Now THAT's Christmas, it's Kaos for Kids! Check out the young lady at 39:06, utterly amazed at the "grown ups" antics. She should come to a BB event  . "John's got pie all over him. He's happier than a pig in sh1t". That Lydon has always been an intriguing guy.

Talking of Lydon.....

Well that was utterly hilarious fun on Friday evening and also uncannily accurate too. As Stu said beforehand, it might turn out rubbish or it might be brilliant....luckily it was indeed brilliant .. Brighton - The Ramonas..... 1 2 3 4...

Image

"Chloe" Ramona in action... Hey ho let's go!...

Image

... supporting The Sex Pistols Experience. Honestly the guy was Rotten down to the last snarl and crazed eyes look..... What was the rude word? Say something outrageous...

Image

Understandably we started off at the back.. anything could happen... but in the end couldn't resist the front row pogoing with the rest of the pensioners... 65 years old.. it's not right is it....

Image

Jez n Reg n Sid....

Image

Completely bonkers night out. Nice cafe brekkie outside the station in the morning and back home on the train. Perfect.

Image

(unbelievably a car went past the cafe with the number plate... BU22 COX... quite a coincidence)

"Bollocks!"

For no reason at all, the great Roy Wood of Wizzard and The Move fame. Ah, those halcyon 70's - superwide collars on flowery shirts, bell-bottomed jeans, Bird's Angel Delight, the Six Million Dollar Man, power cuts, fighting with your brother in the back of the car on 8 hour holiday journeys to Tenby, lava lamps, Bagpuss, Space Hoppers, Dymo, Raleigh Chopper bikes :-bd .

Ta Scott, noted! It was "convenience or death" that I don't like either of the sound of  .

Having been gigpacking this weekend (of which more shortly round in Trips), I have this on while I'm typing. Didn't you go Dave?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TY50hQx8_xE

Intriguing: "Anyways, The Cockney Rejects have a number of shows booked throughout 2024, however, as Jeff will announce, Mick, Vince & Joe will not be doing them. In the meantime, rather than cancel all the Rejects shows, Jeff has decided to recruit 3 new members. They will be me (Olga - The Toy Dolls) on guitar, JJ (Last Resort) on bass, and Ray Dust (Argy Bargy / Knuckledust) on drums".

Reg I went to the Nijmegen and Arnham gigs. Looking to see where they are in 2025 as Gigpacking in the Netherlands rules above all else.

I'm not really a Cockney Rejects fan TBH every song sounds like Sham 69 and they are West Ham supporters so can do one.

On other matters, currently listening to the Sprints and the Meffs on rotation.

Fresh Fruit is undoubtedly the DK's finest moment. I remember listening to it coming home from school in 1983

Right. Right. You're bloody well right....
We go out into the hills to lose ourselves, not to get lost. You are only lost if you need to be somewhere else and if you really need to be somewhere else then you're probably in the wrong place to begin with.
